Exactly, if there’s a season next year, he’s your big ticket acquisition. There’s a reason you usually see contending teams go after players doing well during the season at the deadline and not reclamation projects. In a lot of ways, Getz acted like this was a team that wasn’t really in contention.

Getz’s entire trade deadline was more than likely half of his next offseason’s spending. He literally only acquired players with additional years of control for the future, performance be damned, because they would be cheaper than free agent options going forward. After all, what team that is vying for the playoffs trades for a starter with a 5 ERA and a CF with a .571 OPS?

Boston, just like the last series against them, is the hottest team in baseball. Their pitching has been incredible and they’re seemingly squaring up anything thrown at them. That’s a tough team to be

By my count, Sox are 14-12 in their last 26. 0-5 vs. Boston, 14-7 vs. everyone else. Would have been nice to have caught them in May or June.

  • Would be absolutely hilarious if they pull off this game and twins and guardians lose again, and the Sox gain another game after getting smacked around by Boston

Way too early to make calls on any of the trade additions. That being said, they need to have a plan with Castillo. Nothing seemed seemed different about him tonight….obviously it’s only been a handful of days. But this idea that a change of scenery will magically fix him up is ridiculous. I don’t buy that’s our “plan”, but we need to see something change soon.

Oh f***…I didn’t realize Bart fractured his fucking hand. Good fucking god is that disastrous.

You needed one more inning from Castillo and then you could have gone

Hudson 6th

Taylor 7th/8th

Hicks/Brazoban 9th

After trading Skubal?

If the Tigers go to the playoffs this year, this would be the second time in a 3 year stretch they made it into playoffs after being sellers at the trade deadline (2024 and this year). Obviously didn’t trade anyone as big as Skubal but still

I was laughing at your clueless assessment Ron Willie.

Youre the clueless one. No one except the most negative knee jerk crazies jump to conclusions like you do. Why are you so quiet during wins and post up a storm during losses jack ass ?

They did lose ground to Detroit and Minnesota.

Sure, I just meant for the division lead overall. Magic number is lower today than it was to start the week.

Eh, Bart’s injury isn’t a disaster. Castillo and Doyle will be the disasters. You could literally call up Haase or Lee and they could luckily perform as well as Bart.

I don't know man I'm apparently clueless for calling out the giddy haters for jumping to conclusions.

Not with this organization as of yet

Apparently, you need to resort to name calling cuz you can’t handle a terrible Sox loss. I post during wins and losses, Ron Willie. Look it up.

We'll see that's all I can tell you .

It's asinine football mentally . This isn't 1 of 16 games. We're likely to take 2 of 3 from Cleveland . why the f*** are you laughing ? ARe you happy 1 game makes you a king for a day ?

Look look everybody we lost to the hottest team in baseball 3 games in a row just like we did in the other 3 games against them without Castillo, Bart, Brazoban and Doyle. ANd this one was the closest we came.

But sure keep being giddy so you can celebrate losses .

No, dude, If I was GM, I would totally beat the s%*# out of my owner, make him load all of his family's money into a bitcoin account, and I would hire superhuman extra-terrestrials to kill every other baseball team. Not beat them, but kill and eat them. What are you not understanding?!? The only thing that holds me back from becoming a GM and doing this is my thirteen-figure salary that all of Earth pays me to be so fucking smart and above it all!!!!!

You have to get rid of Romo and go with 2 of the following 3 until teel comes back

Quero, Haase, or go sign mitch garver

He was 2-5 with a walk. I can't imagine what you would say about a 4-strikeout 0-5.

C. Colson has been a bum at the plate since before the all star break. He hits a home run every two or three weeks. Have you seen where is batting average is at? 216. He’s an easy out.

I got way too invested in this game. I haven't really been pissed off after a game all season, but this one really stings.

Yeah this hurt but I hope it didn't cost us tomorrow's game too

Bart is a solid backup catcher…I don’t understand where are this hate is coming from in regard to him.

Lee is despised by his pitching staff and has been condemned to Charlotte.

Haase should probably be called up, but won’t be nearly as good as Bart.

We’re now stuck with Romo until Teel returns no matter what.

Apparently with most of the board voting on a grade on the trade deadline I guarantee you didn't so the minute anything bad happened against the hottest team in baseball you could jump on it . You're so lame.

He’s the guy that at least does damage when he does hit the ball. Our outfield’s lack of power is pathetic.

SInce when does a 1 game sample size matter for anyone especially a pitcher.

Go back a month or more. It's more than one game.

No, Getz traded for Castillo to beat the Royals.

I guess some are disappointed he is not a triple crown candidate.

It’s just an odd acquisition. Way too KW-esque.

Worth mentioning that the ghost runner is still an absolute horseshit rule.

I can’t even imagine how much people will dislike Roch when he’s a .250 hitter
