Are the Red Sox cheating?

Featured Replies

Unless they have figured out that literally all of our pitchers are tipping pitches, I've never seen so many pitches sat on correctly in my life. Every pitcher, seemingly every pitch. Breaking ball low, sit on 100 mph fastball the next pitch. The tying hit in the 9th was particularly egregious. I thought I was going crazy but there is a lot of commentary online about it at least, including from our own James Fox

No, the White Sox are just Meadiocre.

Their manager looks like someone who would cheat lol

My friend has been accusing the Brewers of this since last year (basically what Jimmy said). Common denominator: Caleb Durbin?

Can we not?

Fair. It would be totally unbelievable for a team like the Red Sox to cheat.

They're on a 31-5 stretch after looking like guaranteed sellers, literally a historic run.

Think he’s talking about more than the last 3 games.

Whatever they are doing and unfortunately because I hate anything Boston it has to be one of the most amazing turnarounds I’ve ever seen going from 14 games under .500 to 12 over in a relatively short time.

We had the misfortune of playing the Red Sox 6 games while they are on an historic hot as hell run, too bad we didn’t play them in late April and May.

Apparently so is every other team the Red Sox have played for the last 36 games.

Are the White Sox cheating?!?! They were projected to win 64 games and they're on pace to win in the mid 80's with a plus plus offense!!

To me, it's more that the Sox pitching isn't great and it's gotten smacked around by good offensive teams.

Sox also have a stark home vs road split, and they're offense is 10 wRC+ points better at home than on the road. We wouldn't call them cheaters though, but teams who cheat tend to do so in their own ballpark.

The Red Sox have the opposite split, they've been a much better offense on the road than at home. I'm skeptical that some team has an elaborate road cheating scheme.

Listening to the game testerday DJ was shocked how every Red Sox batter was able to foul off every high fastball, no matter how much velocity it had on it.

Kind of think something will come out in a few years about them cheating.

If they are able to keep up this level of play til the end of the season, I might start becoming more suspicious. These guys are literally unbeatable and yes, they do bat as if they know what is coming. And their pitching has been really good.

Singling on that nasty sinker from Brazoban was insane. Something stinks here.

That was the pitch that made it click for me

This is an incredible thread.

Sox get swept, so the other team must be cheating.

Brazoban throws his sinker low in the zone because that's where sinkers go, guy goes down and gets it... cheating. I'm having a hard time understanding the logic here.

Struggling to understand how it's cheating to be looking for a low sinker from a sinker baller who throws 51% sinkers and hitting it.

The Red Sox are rocking a BABIP over .500 on this heater. Nobody can be that lucky, not even if you're cheating. Their luck will start to average out.

Anyone hear any trash cans in the background?

In 2002 Oakland went 10-17 in May, 21-7 in June, 24-4 in August. They had a 20-game winning streak and also a 16-1 streak.

Oakland lost in the ALDS best of 5 to the Twins 3 games to 2.

The below is a heat map of where Brazoban has thrown his sinker in 2026. The bottom image is the pitch in question that was hit. You'll notice it's almost like the Red Sox just have a.... scouting report!

That's legitimately insane.

That's because it's not true. Since July 1st, the Red Sox team BABIP is 299.
