Korey is hitting at about a park-adjusted league average clip in AAA, a tick below that on the Statcast expected metrics. Reasonable to think he would out-hit Romo (it's a very, very low bar). Most signs point to Lee being a pretty brutal defensive catcher, besides his throwing arm being so strong. Last I looked, he was among the worst framers in AAA which is the biggest contributor to defensive value for catchers. And he has a bad track record for blocking in MLB, which is the next biggest contributor to defensive value. You get the impression that the Sox think he's bad at calling games, but I don't know how to evaluate that very easily from the outside.

Eric Haase is right there though. He's also not really a very good defender, but his bat is a little more proven (albeit unexceptional to say the least) and he's managed to have a MLB job a long time so I assume the intangibles must not be too bad.

Going to come down to beating the Guards, Twins, and Tigers for us to lock the division down.

My volume is no longer on the cursed number and is fixed at 35… time for our first 10 game winning streak boys!

Quero looked like a real player at that point still

he looked fat you mean

sigh

run doesn't matter I guess

GREAT PICK MIGGY!!!!!

Really tough hop there. That could have been bad. Nice play by Vargas.

Great play considering how it’s been going

guessing Colson doesn't play tomorrow

Is it me or is Romo extra fidgety this inning?

I think the way he gets the ball from his glove and throws it back to the pitcher is really weird (always, not just this inning). Looks like some kind of weird routine that a guy uses to overcome the yips.

Awesome win!

Nice play Murakami and goodbye Guardians

Romo is going to run into one tonight. Sox win 6-3.

Just flew too close to the sun predicting a Romo homer.

At least 9 more wins coming in a row here gang. Place your bets and let em ride!

Big win! Nice comeback against a tough pitching team

game over

what a week

still not out of it but can breathe a sigh of relief for day or so

Three game lead over CLE MIN Three and one half over Los Tigres

Going to be really interesting to see what Chase is being bothered by.

Bout damn time

That was probably the biggest game of the season for the Sox up to this point.
