Sox just need to avoid a sweep in Cleveland, and their chances of winning the division are very high. A sweep gives Cleveland 3 games in the standings, plus the tiebreaker. Essentially, 3.5 games gai

I know Drew takes a fair amount of heat here, but it continues to be notable to me that our pitchers truly seem to value his presence behind the plate, whatever his shortcomings may be.

YEAH BUDDY

Sox need good defense again tonight for the win.

He has begun to throw a lot more runners out, and also make a lot more challenges that he is correct on. It’s hard to dislike what he has been doing, and his bat has been better than when he was batting .100 for like two months straight.

I noticed last night his receiving has gotten a lot better. I think Rogers is giving him some tips too.

Cleveland SS with one of the worst force out throws to 2nd you'll ever see. Inning would have ended at 1-0. It's now 6-0 Jays.

Big opportunity for the Sox to build some separation tonight in the standings. Astros sit 3.5 back of the sox for the coveted 2-seed. Sox can tie up the season series tonight at 3-a-piece, and set themselves up with the opportunity to own the tiebreaker with a win Thursday. Cleveland faces Dylan Cease and the Blue Jays.

Davis Martin returns tonight, which version of him will Come Out and Play?

Blue Jays 6 Guardians 0 in the 3rd inning with Cease pitching at 6:20 pm. Looking good for the Sox so far.

Thorpe currently through 4ip on 53 pitches. Gave up an oppo wall scraper for the only run allowed.

7-0!

Would be nice to take advantage of Cleveland struggling and take this game

Is he still down there for service clock reasons? I would hope not.

It would be nice if Detroit could win a fucking game. Given Twinkies hope again.

Doubt it...with all the studs like W.Jenkins and Salas now coming up, he's certainly not anywhere close to that tier.

The service time date has long passed. I assume they just wanted a softer landing spot for him next week vs Pirates

Didn't you see the teen takeover in Colorado recently...?

Now through 5 on 65 pitches. Wonder how long they’ll let him go. Gave up two softer singles to start the 5th. 1 would come around to score on some interesting fielding decisions.
