At least Cleveland lost so basically everyone held serve basically. Still a 3 game lead but disappointing we only won 1 game in this series. Last night and the first game were very winnable.

yet those 2 NL Central teams worry me. They are not AL bad.

At least Cleveland lost. Magic number is 20. I'm more worried about the lack of hitting than I am about the starting pitching. I was surprised to see Urquidy pitch in the 8th inning. I thought he would start the game Friday night. Maybe Fedde will start tomorrow night or Hagen Smith.

The thing is that this could've easily been a 3/4 series win for the Sox. First game they had a ton of runners left on base, Blanco is not a good pitcher, they had a ton of walks but the big hit never came. Martin was solid after a shaky start and the Sox put up a pathetic goose egg for his effort. Today was the only game that felt like they were out of it. Terrible series against a not very good team to be honest. You can't be shitting the bed this bad if you want to be a legit contender.

4 games up would feel much more comfortable...especially not knowing if Detroit will decide to fight back and play spoiler or not.

We treat young players in baseball with the same expectations as those in the NFL, NBA. I always wondered if Mickey Mantle got the same treatment.

I remember in 2023 Cub fans would take Robert over PCA.

We just came off a 4 game winning streak. Unfortunately this Houston series did a lot to undo the progress made from the winning streak.

I truly hope that getting back in front of the home crowd tomorrow night will do the guys good!

my point is our expectations are not often realistic with young players.

Mantle was sent down to the minors during the mid 1951 season. He was brought up a few weeks later.
