At this point I think the only terrible team might be KC. The rest are mediocre

Royals and Rockies are also not playing well. We might need to just a bunch of fucking runs in the next 8 games.

I am well aware that doing anything in the playoffs is not realistic but missing the playoffs will really really really suck.

We're 1 season off from being one of those terrible teams. We're less terrible now, sure, but as evidenced by their record this season, they aren't special in any way. The expectations they have now are by virtue of being the "tallest midget" for awhile in the AL Central/West. Anyone who expects more out of them is fooling themselves. If this were in actual good baseball team, they'd be 15-20 over .500 in this awful AL and running away with the division.

This team overachieving and then achieving nothing noteworthy at the end would be so disappointing. Especially because they collapsed so badly in September. The AL is as weak as ever. 82 wins probably gets you a wild card spot. Not even getting that when you entered September with 70+ wins is an absolute disaster. I don't care what the preseason expectations are. When you collapse that badly at the end, it's hard to look at a season fondly.

Players have some blame but not a lot in my opinion. It's been a long season, they are gassed, played over their heads for months.

When Getz f#$%^& up the trade deadline that was the start of the breaking point.

When Colson hit that double to clear the bases, after Munes 2 hits yesterday, I thought alright here we go......Sandlin, Murphy, Newcomb and Hudson later and here we are.

2012 had a 1-8 stretch that killed them

6-13 is less dramatic death by 1000 cuts

just not going to reach the 89-95 loss range most had predicted unless they extended the season

That was a bad beat down tonight no doubt but the Sox have bounced back all season. I want to see how they respond to this terrible loss.
