Pitching evaluation that has been less than exemplary; and this weird insistence on goofy deliveries. And no talent signed on the international front. They’ve used plenty of resources on pitching prospects. The results from Bannister have been very disappointing.

12 hours ago12 hr Teel's game calling needs a lot more scrutiny by the coaching staff, hell just bring back Romo and get rid of Jake Rogers after this tigers series
12 hours ago12 hr one thing I do find at least slightly pleasing is how much criticism Getz is getting and will continue to get after the season ends for building one of the worst pitching staff in years, and also throwing 10s of millions of dollars at bad players who actively made your team worse

Whose fault was using 3.5 rounds of a 5 round draft for Kelley. (finally released in August). Bad development or bad pick?

12 hours ago12 hr Looks to me like we've seen the last of Luis Castillo this year. I actually thought they might bring him into the game tonight out of the bullpen. Wouldn't it of made sense to bring him in tonight? The bullpen pitchers are tired and look burned out. The only reliever we have left for tomorrow is Taylor. By pitching Castillo tonight he could not have done worse than what the other bullpen pitchers did tonight. Plus it would have given them a day of rest.

Instead, he’s just wasting a roster spot.I was telling my kids something this as we drove home from the game and I was ridiculing Getz & Venable. Feels like instead of burning your entire tired bullpen in one game, you could have used your main trade deadline addition to get you five innings. But nope, he’s so bad he wasn’t even an option tonight to protect a depleted bullpen.
11 hours ago11 hr So tomorrow, you basically have Schultz and Castillo as your relievers. I’d imagine no Newcomb, Hudson, Hagen or Hicks. Please rain

The AL is as weak as ever. 82 wins probably gets you a wild card spot. Not even getting that when you entered September with 70+ wins is an absolute disaster. I don't care what the preseason expectations are. When you collapse that badly at the end, it's hard to look at a season fondly.ONLY IF YOUR FANS ARE CONDITIONED TO LOSING

10 hours ago10 hr The Sox came into Friday’s game ranked last in the majors in September in average (.207) and slugging percentage (.357) and over the last 10 games hit .179 (15-for-84) with runners in scoring position.Sox fans booed Venable as he came out to remove his relievers, showing their frustration over the team’s recent downturn.https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/09/18/chicago-white-sox-will-venable-bullpen/

6 hours ago6 hr Just a devastating loss, the Sox have come back all year but when your starters can’t get to the 5th inning with a bullpen that is cooked this could be the season.
5 hours ago5 hr We never had the horses for a marathon that is a 162 game season. The offense still is the top scoring offense in the AL, though most of the damage was done pre All Star break, they've been pretty bad recently, scoring a bunch of runs here and there and not scoring enough way too many times. Hitting with RISP has been abysmal too. Mune fell off a cliff, along with Kolson and Braden, the bullpen started shaky but became a strength up until a month ago when it started to show wear and tear from over usage which comes back to my first point, and baseball pundits were saying it pre ASB, the starters would need to go deeper into games to spell their BP arms, they never did because our starting rotation is ass and Getz tradeline acquisitions were complete and utter trash and apparently no relief from the farm system. What started as a feel good story, first franchise to have two straight 100 plus loss seasons and comes back to win their division now seems unlikely and the takeaway will be the late season collapse, due to the fact we have no starting pitching, we were never gonna actually compete for a title though, not with these hacks we have as starters. Just for comparison sake, take any one of our four 2005 postseason starters, Contreras, MB, Garland or Freddie Garcia and stick him in our current starting rotation and that one pitcher would be our ace, easily...also not having a true closer is screwing us rn. This is mostly on Getz though, Will isn't a good in game manager but to be fair, not a whole lotta options to pick from from our pitchers.

At the very least, give the BP a break, can't even be an innings eater at this point? Such an indictment on Getz, made the team worse with his tradeline "additions".
