The garbage Tribe finally eliminated.

Another year of no titles in Cleveland.

And to add insult to injury, they have to live in Cleveland.

f*** em. Good riddance and good to see their fraudulent bullshit end.

Their World Series title drought stretches to 79 years. Amazingly, they're now only 9 years away from matching the White Sox 88-year drought between 1917 and 2005.

The Brewers and Padres (1969 expansion franchises, never won the WS) have the next longest droughts...and of course, the Brewers could end their wait by the end of this month.

LMFAO. Are you a Cub fan ?

It's the third straight year and fourth in the past five that the Guardians failed to get past the ALCS. They've had seven tries in the postseason to reach the World Series since their last appearance in 2016. They've fallen short each time.

No, Cub fans are content with mediocrity. Sox fans want more.

He blocks you because of this immature bs. It’s probably nice to just not have to read that, it’s too bad quote tweets show you flailing around for attention

I honestly don't care who wins the World Series. I like both teams, and I really like that there are teams not called the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, etc. playing. I just REALLY didn't want to see Cleveland there. I hate to be this way, but I loved seeing the glum faces as Tampa handed the Guardians their ass.

Brewers in 5

Hope it goes 6 or 7.

Either is a great story, but hard not to go Brewers if you were raised in the Midwest.

Plus, they continue to infuriate Cubs' fans with their #19 payroll.

That just shows how pathetic the AL Central is and has been as the little Det and KC runs were the only AL Central success in the last 30+ years as the late 90s Indians never won anything. What a shitty division.

So, 2005 never happened? I think ESPN would totally agree with your assessment here.

The Guards are great at developing talent but can’t keep it. Where would they be if Ramirez didn’t give them a hometown discount?

Their best chance was against the Cubs in 2016 and they totally blew it.

One hit wonders are the exception. I fully understand they won a world series but then were never heard from again.

They were great at developing talent I think they are just now better than developing talent than the other AL Central teams which is no grat accomplishment.

Soxtalk love affair Jo Adell with an ALCS for the ages. .136/.208/.227 for a boisterous .436 OPS.

All the more frustrating that the Sox with the advantages they have in many areas haven't been able to dominate it.

A look back at the last time Milwaukee won the World Series - 69 years ago.

The Brewers have swung and missed in all 56 of their tries at winning a World Series, but Milwaukee has earned one World Series title.

Jose Ramirez wasn't good either. Seems like Tampa knew how to handle Adell and Ramirez much better than we did. It was the opposite for DeLauter. He absolutely killed them, whereas he was pretty quiet against us.

Better pitching overall was part of it, but we also kept throwing lefties at Adell and that's all he can hit.

Very happy to see the eventual downfall of the Guardians who proved very hateable. They obviously have some very talented baseball ops people and despicable ownership holding them back. We can only hope that ownership continues to refuse investing in payroll or that the talented front office proves not so good on figuring out which veteran players are worth spending money on (which IMO is quite possibly a different skill than the amateur acquisition and development skills they are clearly good at).

I don't think there's all that much to learn from comparing stats between the two series, there are so few games involved you can hardly call them hot and cold streaks. DeLauter made some loud outs against the Sox that probably held his numbers down. I certainly felt more afraid of him than most anyone else in their lineup.

I found it weird watching Cleveland how they went from a team that had good starting pitching to a team that seemed to believe it only had two starters. Griffin actually did fairly well in the postseason but they used him like a reliever, seemingly because they thought (maybe accurately) that he would get beat up without his matchups being carefully managed. Bibee had been bad down the stretch so that made sense I guess. Cantillo was handled even more carefully than Griffin but he kind of earned it by struggling mightily to throw strikes; of course maybe he's at home thinking his issues were due to his atypical usage. Messick proved beatable when you don't chase his changeup. Williams was a monster but in his last inning of the ALCS he had lost nearly 4mph on his fastball which makes me think he hit a wall with fatigue (or worse, that he got hurt). I wasn't even clear that Cleveland was going to use him in a Game 7. On offense, Cleveland lived by success on slappy balls in play and died by it as well. May they rest in peace!

I also want to note that Detroit has some really interesting young players, starting with McGonigle who may be just one of those guys who is among the best players in the game for years. Dingler has been great even if I'm sure their fans are worried about his trajectory at the end of the season. Riley Greene is a good young hitter. Max Clark has big potential. I'm not sure if they will have pitching but that's always harder to project.

Same goes for Kansas City. Bobby Witt is Bobby Witt. Carter Jensen seems like a real strong player that maybe flew a tick under the radar. The sky is the limit for Caglianone and he's managed to not be a 35% K rate guy. Not sure what exactly Maikel Garcia will be but the 2025 version was a problem and he's at worst a solid regular on the cheap. Pasquatch is also a rock solid guy IMO. I'm not sure if they have enough reinforcements on the way though.

I'm not as enthused about the Twins going forward but they basically sold the whole org for parts in 2025 and still hung around in 2026, so I can't ignore that.

1) I was surprised to see the Rays wearing their old Devil Rays uniforms. Their present uniforms are much better looking. 2) I'm glad to see the ghost runner at 2nd base in extra innings not being used in the MLB playoffs. If its not good enough to have it in the playoffs, why have it during the regular season? Every fan poll I've seen shows most fans don't like the ghost runner. 3) I read where there's speculation the White Sox might trade Sam Ant to the Yankees. I hope this is BS. 4) I've spent a lifetime going to White Sox games but the crowds at the playoffs against Cleveland were unlike anything i've experienced. The fans were really into the games. Its a shame the White Sox didn't win one of those games. 5) I read where Rays star Yandy Diaz is a free agent after this year. I wonder where he's going to sign?

I think one thing to watch out for if they end up implementing a salary floor in the CBA is how it could affect a team like the Guardians, who never spend money. If they're now forced to spend $170 million, their front office might actually make smart signings to bolster their roster even more. While I think a floor will make the Sox also spend more, we are far dumber with our money when we spend it.

Pirates Reds etc.

A's will have more revenues in the beginning in Vegas

TB CLE MIL

LAA with Kroenke/entertainment district

Colorado with Broncos' group running it

Sox farm system now well behind DET MIN CLE

Royals new stadium/increased revenues

In other words Ishbia is needed now sooner rather than later.
