I feel sorry for Heather Lee, but this isn't a horrible trade. RIght handed power hasn't won us games and Kenny is going for something else. People! Stop jumping off cliffs! Plus the ptbnl could be a solid prospect.

This is a huge salary relief on top of what we get in players.  We now have almost $10 million to spend.

it seems we got someone with speed from hell... a great 2b platoon vs LHP option... maybe a PTBNL.. and saved about 6 million to add to the 4 million we have left... meaning KW got all that and also has 10 million to go get another starter.... which im sure he will

Ginter is a middle Infielder, IIRC. Will he start?

Unfortunately, for one season, Podsednik (sp?) was a good leadoff hitter -- that's it, just one year.

 

Other than that, he's mediocre. So he steals some bases. It isn't worth it if he only gets on base at a .320 clip...

I am not very happy with this trade but I will try to calm down. Let's not forget that his home turf will now be U.S. CELLULAR FIELD. That is a hitter's park right there. He may do better than he did with Milwaukee. Plus, we were asking for a leadoff hitter who can steal some bases... well we got it. Getting Podsenik and Ginter may not be bad, I think.

I like CLee, but seriously folks, what the hell did you expect to get for a power hitting left fielder? Sorry, but players like Carlos are a dime a dozen. Guys who steal 70 bases aren't.

 

Also think of the money this opens up. This deal doesn't overly excite me, but I don't think it's a bad one.

Both of them made about $1 million combined in 2004. I'm not sure what their 2005 salaries are.
