Independent film channel is a new favorite of mine after viewing several interesting movies the last several days. Among them are two standouts -- "Once Were Warriors" and "The Magdelan Sisters" (Nora Jane Noone ).

 

I don't know if anyone has heard of either, but if you're in Blockbuster or Hollywood Video and happen to see these titles, they're worth the money.

I'm a huge fan of IFC although I haven't seen those 2 in particular. I'll keep my eyes open for them.

I rented Magdalene Sisters with some girls I knew back in college and I have to say I wasn't very entertained. I understand the historic significance. However, it was just too disturbing and f***ing strange for me.

I loved transformers but I really really hope they do not make a sequel because that in my opinion would be completely retarded and just ruin the whole thing.

Evan Almighty wasn't bad at all. Carell was good and had some very hilarious parts in it, especially when he 1st shaves.

Wow....Transformers was a real winner too. Between Die Hard and Transformers I've actually seen two straight very very entertaining movies. Must be a record cause I was about to write off movies as becoming horrible.

Money talks in the movie biz. Heck, they even made a sequel to "Legally Blonde".

They are already going to make a Spiderman 4 as well.. however I heard they weren't sure if they would be able to get everyone back from the original movies

I've been very selective over the last year in what movies I go see in the the theater. Since August, I've only seen Casino Royal, 300, Ocean's 13, and Transformers, and I must say they've all been winners. My days of seeing any decent looking movie are over b/c of how ridiculous ticket prices have gotten.

Can hardly blame you. Mixed with the rude behavior of people these days. I could come up with 5 instances during my viewing of Transformers.
