Its amazing to me one of the worst hitters on the team is guaranteed to come to bat at least as much, if not more than any other player on the team. If there is some reason Pods must play, he should bat 8th or 9th.

Wasn't the one decent game he had in Boston when he batted 8th? A lineup never to be seen again.

 

Why is Thornton still in the game?

The same reason that Hermy was option A out of the pen tonight with Cotts backing him up.
