Who cares what the minor leaguers think about how Anderson has been handled?

The minor leaguers should try to make the majors and shut the bleep up.

Anderson sucked at the plate last year.

He sucked. Plain and simple.

If he produces, baseball men like Oz and KW will play him.

He he continues to be an automatic out, he won't.

Personally I wish we still had BMac as No. 5 starter, but as far as Anderson,

he needs to produce or get what he deserves, the bench.

tucson = a great, great time.

There'll be a thread with lots of pictures later.

Brian Anderson was by far the most personable and fan-friendly player on the team.

No need, we saw you on tv. :P

Please explain why your Sox hat is in such poor condition..

I am one that wants everyone on the Sox to succeed... but this whole situation is pretty clear... we've all seen it first hand.

Do you think Brian Anderson's spring performance has earned him the starting job in CF? Just as Ozzie said, if Anderson steps it up in Spring and outperforms his competition the starting spot is his. Just curious.

Didn't see this yet, probably cause it isn't major news/doesn't mean s*** but since it's whitesox related and it's a day old..

The Chicago White Sox have acquired IF Robby Hudson from the Seattle Mariners, in exchange for cash considerations

Current forecast for Opening Day. High of 56, partly cloudy. Could be a lot worse!

Way too early to look at that. Weather forecasts are only good about 1 or days in advance. I checked the forecast for Monday yesterday and it said 48. Who knows, tomorrow it'll say 75 for Monday.

I hate to say I've been stuck at work swamped all of march and haven't had time

to check the stats.

But I've just now checked them and I'd say, Yes, I wish BA would be starting

ahead of Erstad.

Hopefully with all the lefties in our division, BA should play a lot.

He hit 290 in the spring, did BA with a better on base than Erstad which should

have given him the job.

Hope Darin doesn't suck in April and May. We have to stay pace all season with

the Tigers, Indians, Twins and maybe even the Royals, who have our number.

Erstad has played a lot lot better than BA has this spring. I've been watching quite a few games and BA is still very lost at the plate. In terms of Erstad, he's looked healthy out in the field (and thats a good thing because his defense has been solid and we'll really get to see what he's made of when the season begins) and at the plate he seems to be taking better pitches. He's already our best base-runner and at the plate he's been having good AB's. Anderson has had a couple hot streaks but he's not having good ab's and still has a terrible swing.

I like BA a lot, but Darin should be starting (we could argue that it should be in LF over Pods with a quality righty platooning with him to keep him fresh) but thats another debate.

Thanks for the update chsoxfan.

I believe you fully but how is BA hitting .290?

That's way better than last season.

Has he attacked the ball at all? Or is he still that tall lumbering at bat guy

who looks like a pitcher at the plate?

I'm sorry but I totally disagree, Erstad has actually looked pretty bad at the plate hence his 13 Ks and only 4 BB, the guy has been flailing like crazy on anything with movement and is having trouble with strike zone judgment. Anderson has had some hot streaks, it's true but it's not like Erstad hasn't been doing the exact same. As of last week his OBP was below .300, he's picked up some singles along with a home run over the past few games and upped his spring numbers. Atleast Brian has stayed consistent with his approach at the plate, the guy is taking pitches nicely and getting deep into counts, he's gone 3-1 more times than I can count this spring. His swings are still choppy as hell though, he's really got to work on cutting them down. Hence his 7 BB and 7 SO.

I've seen every AB the each of them have had this spring most of them a second time and Brian has earned a starting spot on this club, he's done exactly what was asked of him. If Erstad had outplayed Brian in the 24 more ABs he's had I'd be more than happy to endorse him as the starting CF because of his baseball savvy, quality fundamentals and team leadership skills and frankly I'm not a big fan of Anderson as a hitter. I'm just waiting for Erstad to show some sort of batter's eye.

As Ozzie said, the guy who produces during spring is going to win the job and it's tough to argue that Erstad's spring production has been greater than Anderson's.

Hell, give me my grindErstad/BA/Dye OF, and I'll be the happiest Sox fan around(for at least 1 day).

However, since we've had Pods penciled in as the starter the day KW and Oz knew he could walk straight again, theres no hope of such.

Anyone see where CC. Sabathia got hit today? Indians boards say it could be a fracture, which I believe is a minimum of 2 months to heal.

Whoah. This could be huge. One less lefty ace to flounder against.

Source?

Boy, after the Hall injury, the combination of his possible early return and the idea of NOT having to face CC are softening the blow a bit.

According to ESPN, looks like probably just a bruise. Nothing confirmed, though.

I know it's not Sox news, but why do you think Reed's skills didn't translate to the big

leagues?

Was there any sign in the minors that he couldn't hit?

He has nothing in his bat, no pop in his bat, correct?
