It's clear, Quentin is cursed.

Brian Anderson's number should have been changed to 86.

Hawk was on ESPN radio bout a week ago and even HE said Detroit is better. Pretty decent interview.

Hopefully Contreras has the whole divorce situation resolved and pitch well for us this season.

Wouldn't you all agree the odds of us making the playoffs right now are about 30 percent?

The odds are greater of us finishing last than first?

It's going to take a year of every player being an overachiever as well as Oz

Coop and Walker working some magic.

Is this team capable of such bonding together or are the Sox going to be clones

of the dreadfully mopey Bulls?

In this division/league, you better have a lot of confidence to say that the White Sox have a 30% chance of making the playoffs at this point. But you could say the same thing about any team except the Yankees and Red Sox. Once you get past the 25% chance, then you're actually expressing confidence in your chances for most of these team.s

  • 2 weeks later...

Only 2 months until Opening Day.

Only 2 weeks til pitchers and catchers.

The Sox photo gallery on Yahoo! consists of 5 pictures right now.

3 of them of are Twins players

The other 2 are of Dotel....in a KC uniform.

That's pretty bad haha

If Buehrle honestly did ask for them, which I doubt, then I'm cool with it.

In fact, that was probably the f***ing sticking point in the extension talks.

I'll bet he's killed something while wearing that jersey.

Terrible...

Camo Unis? They're hideous on the Padres, they won't be much better on the Sox.

I f***ing love the Pads camo's and I'm a fan of the Sox wearing camo's considering its a way of respecting the troops (both current and past).

''The kids are going to be fine,'' Williams said when asked about his starting rotation. ''The key is going to be Jose Contreras. If Jose Contreras throws the ball the way we think he's going to throw the ball, we've got a chance.''

I have criticized KW in the past, but I have never been one of the carping critics that now seem to grow in number every day. This quote really disappoints me though. The team having a chance is dependent on Contreras throwing the ball well? That is key? Maybe I am pessimistic, but I cannot see how that will happen. Granted, I think he will likely pitch very well for about a month; maybe he'll be the Cy Young candidate if the season ended in May. Based on the numbers/trends I have looked at, I do not see Contreras being able to handle the rigors of a full season.

why is Sisco mentioned as a contender for a bullpen spot - weren't they trying to stretch him out into a starter down in Charlotte? Wasn't the same true with Masset?

I think the Sox envision Sisco as a reliever, but they want him to work on his secondary pitches, and on his consistant release point, which is why they are having him start. They are trying to give him the repititions he missed after being buried in the Royal pen as a Rule V pick.

I hope he can figure it out, a tall lefty pitcher can be so dominant.

My wife is at a kitchen show in Orlando. As she is on the phone, MB and his wife walk up to her booth. She said he and his wife were very nice.

Extra innings

Baltimore will scout the Sox's Juan Uribe in case 23-year-old Luis Hernandez falters as Miguel Tejada's replacement at shortstop. Uribe lost his starting job to Orlando Cabrera.

Damn, I was just about to start my "Who will show up to ST with a new look" thread. Last year Contreras took it with the goatee.
