December 11, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) Interesting, didn't know that, good point. Yeah, it's a little odd to me, it seems to encourage guys to wait to hit free agency rather than signing an extension. I get the extend-and-trade related limitations, but I don't see why his current team can't sign him to a full extension right now.

If I read that right, his current team can sign him to an extension right now, but they just can't trade him for 6 months if they do so?
December 11, 201114 yr Totally different topic: I love the Pacers signing David West for 2-20. He's easily worth that if he's healthy, and if he isn't healthy they're not totally screwed due to the short length and reasonable price. He also fills a need as they needed another big and another player that can put the ball in the basket.

They can only add two years to his contract, not the five that they could if he declares for free agency.
December 11, 201114 yr I guess the thinking there must be that teams can't team up the multiples if the guys actually hit FA, and teams that are in small markets are much more likely to be under the cap enough to offer a max deal, which is probably true.

December 12, 201114 yr I love the confidence out of this Bulls team right now. Maybe they do all want to keep playing together. DRose: "We had the No. 1 record in the NBA last year. I guess people forgot that."

DRose: "We had the No. 1 record in the NBA last year. I guess people forgot that." I'm happy they're confident, we haven't forgotten that they had the best record in the NBA last year, we also haven't forgotten that they lost in the ECF, improvements are needed.

December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) That as well. And that they have no finisher other than Rose, who can't beat LeBron to the bucket.
December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) And that they have no finisher other than Rose, who can't beat LeBron to the bucket. Which goes with my original thought, yeesh Shack, keep up.
December 12, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Apparently Dwight simply wants nothing to do with Chicago. If that's the case, better for you Bulls fans to know now than to play the "wait and see LeBron game" over again.
December 12, 201114 yr I'm happy they're confident, we haven't forgotten that they had the best record in the NBA last year, we also haven't forgotten that they lost in the ECF, improvements are needed. Actually if you count the regular season the Bulls were 4-4 against the Heat last year. People act like this Bulls roster is thoroughly outclassed by the Heat... from what we saw last year that's just not true. I dont see the rush to gut our roster for one guy when we shouldn't be totally confident this Bulls team as is (+ a decent acquisition here or there) cant get it done. Shane Battier does not make the Miami Heat scary. Nor does Billups really, we can still abuse their pathetically unphysical frontcourt with our depth. Get rid of that depth and the only guy on this team other than Rose who can finish (Deng)... I just dont see us fairing any better against the Heat than we did last year. Give it an offseason, lay off this madness and give we have now another try. Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook are both RFA's next offseason, plus there is no guarantee Howard is going to skip the free agent process next year.... so there's plenty of room to try and improve if this season doesn't go the way we want. December 12, 201114 yr Wow... CP3 going to the Clippers. Deal is close. Eric Gordon isn't involved like in an earlier report(s). Clippers would send Chris Kaman, Eric Bledsoe and Al-Farouq Aminu to Hornets. T-Wolves unprotected pick also going to Clippers. What a steal if it happens. CP3-Gordon-Blake (I'll also shoutout DeAndre Jordan) Unreal.
December 12, 201114 yr Howard is now basically saying he wants to be traded because they wouldn't let him be the GM.

Note to self, have NBA own team.
December 12, 201114 yr Author GM Gar Forman said that the Bulls are working with Derrick Rose's agents to finalize a five-year, $94 million extension. This is a formality, as the team has has already called it a "top priority" to accomplish. Rose has already stated that he has no interest in signing elsewhere, and this should be done rather quickly. Similarly to Kevin Durant, Rose has no interest in wasting the team's time in contract talks and wants to remain with the club long-term. Love this kid.
December 12, 201114 yr Author I don't get this... according to this article, the Clippers WANT to keep Bledsoe, and WANT to trade Eric Gordon? But the trade as presented has one hitch: The league, which owns the Hornets, wanted Eric Bledsoe, while the Clippers want to keep their point guard, the source said. The deal would be done if the league hadn't asked for Bledsoe, according to the source. The trade as submitted would cost the Clippers guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman and forward Al-Farouq Aminu. It would also include Minnesota's first-round draft pick in 2012. I don't see why this would EVER be the issue. I am very confused.
