Sox collected 13 hits against Team USA and should have won. Squandered quite a few men on 1st and 3rd and 2nd and 3rd with less then 2 outs possibilities in every way imaginable. There was a pop out , a line out, a K, a GiDP and a FODP. Beckham came through with a 2 out base hit after one of those situations but Viciedo was thrown out at home.

OTOH SOX pitching looked good. Floyd ,Santiago, Thornton, And Jones all held Team USA regulars scoreless. Sox also substituted minor leaguer's much earlier and Snodgress gave up the last 2 Team USA runs in the 8th inning.

That would be great. Lock him up while he is still somewhat cheap and pray that arm doesn't blow.

I think this observation is an important one and applies to the other games played too. I know it is ST and all but our regular pitching staff members have looked pretty good

Not sure if they will, but the Sox could conceivably have a workout at the Cell three weeks from today. This snow better get melting.

Wondering the same thing. He's not that important really to the team's success, but I wonder what's wrong.

He's only important for the 19 games vs. Detroit to face Prince, and those don't start til the second half, so he has time to heal.

I'm sure Melton does the broadcast for free. Having a guy some will like better than Hawk or Farmer would just give people something else to complain about during the regular season. It all works out. Hawk and Farmer look better and it costs nothing.
