Who is sending the PTBNL?

One from the Angels and one from the Sox.

Eaton was the #73 prospect at the beginning of this year. I think this is a great pickup. A CF who can play defense, is fast, and should have a good OBP

Apparently we will be getting a minor league player as well

Eaton, Avasail, Abreu... hopefully three guys that will be part of the solution. Looking forward to watching some new blood for a full season.

Sox trying to build a "young core" including pitching. Getting there.

Damn. Was hoping the Sox would get more.

ESPECIALLY if we're sending a PTBNL.

And where does De Aza go?

From what I've read, the Sox are only giving up Santiago and that's it. LAA is sending two players to AZ along with Trumbo.

Jon Morsi said on MLB network that the Sox may get a minor leaguer too but wasn't sure and didn't have a name.

It would be sad if we are also giving up a meaningful prospect. Talk about insult to injury.

So yeah, what plans for our OF now?

They already had Adam Dunn in 2008 for about 3 weeks after the non-waiver deadline passed, meaning he cleared waivers. I doubt they wanted him back.

I dont get this deal at all for AZ. That's a lot to give up for a one-dimmensional player.

It just goes to show that there is a real premium on power in the post-PED's era. Players like Trumbo and Dunn still have a lot of value because they still hit a tremendous amount of HR's.

So what's the consensus here, is this Eaton guy going to be a butcher in the field? Speed and arm strength apparently right? Is he inept out there? I don't want some bumblebee out there bumbling around in the field, not for Santiago anyway.

His defense reminds me of Rowand.

Actually, his game reminds me of a lefty Rowand. A little more speed and a little less power, with better contact skills.

I actually really like this. No way at this time last year could the Sox have made this trade. That's the fickle nature of the prospect world.

#73 - Eaton

#74 - Garcia

We be rakin in the 70s.

Without a doubt, not KW's MO.

Hanh's character starting to show.

Good deal for us. I like Santiago, but I wouldn't shock me if he's strictly a bullpen arm 3 years from now. Not saying he doesn't have a good chance of sticking as a solid 3/4 starter, but I think it was a smart move to trade him now while his name is hot.

RF Garcia

CF Eaton

LF De Aza

DH Viciedo

Still think he has value, but he projects as a 4OF at this point RT @SpaldingBalls not really a prospect anymore, but thoughts on Adam Eaton

Who are the Angels who are eligible for Rule 5? That sounds like where we should be looking.

Last time we heard this was from KW taking about Simon Castro

One PTBN from #Angels, one from #WhiteSox to #DBacks in 3-team deal. Angels' player eligible for Rule 5 draft. White Sox's guy might be too

Great trade!

So do we nickname him Spanky, or ASE? Or something else?
