Why are so many third down routes in this offense short of the marker

Cutler just missed a wide open Bennett to force a pass to Marshall. Bears three and out. Trest Coast Offense in full effect.

 

The important thing is we never try to get our fast 6'3 receivers doing anything but 5 yard hooks.

Check down Charlie can't even make those throws accurately

I am also an Iowa fan, and they have the same issue. Whatever they need for the first down, subtract 2 or 3 and that will be the lenght of the pass.
