July 31, 201411 yr With the trade deadline behind us, I'm interested to see what you all think our 2015 team will look like. My prediction: 1. Eaton 2. Ramirez 3. Gillaspie 4. Abreu 5. Viciedo 6. Garcia 7. Davidson (DH/3B) 8. Micah Johnson 9. Flowers With a bench of Nieto, Leury, Sierra, and Carlos Sanchez. Pitching- 1. Sale 2. James Shields 3. Quintana 4. Erik Johnson/FA/Noesi 5. Danks Putnam Petricka Joe Thatcher Surkamp Luke Gregerson Webb Guerra Casey Janssen Edited July 31, 201411 yr by Jose Abreu
July 31, 201411 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 06:11 PM) 9. JorDanks/minor league OF Sign a FA Jordan Danks wouldn't be a serious effort at winning.
July 31, 201411 yr If that is the team we go with next year then rick Hahn must've gone into a comma during the offseason.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 06:41 PM) Ugh, sounds like a nightmare with Flowers, Danks and a Viciedo starting next year. Are there really other realistic options? Who do you want catching, Ryan Doumit?
July 31, 201411 yr QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 06:21 PM) If that is the team we go with next year then rick Hahn must've gone into a comma during the offseason. More like a period.

August 1, 201411 yr Leaving aside Viciedo, Jordan Danks and Tyler Flowers, what exactly has Leury Garcia done to justify a place on the bench? He is literally hitting like a pitcher in over 200 PA with the White Sox.
August 1, 201411 yr QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 07:44 PM) Leaving aside Viciedo, Jordan Danks and Tyler Flowers, what exactly has Leury Garcia done to justify a place on the bench? He is literally hitting like a pitcher in over 200 PA with the White Sox. And yet, no mention of Futuresox's preseason #4 prospect. That dude who could be competent at 3+ positions and is OPSing .813 with a babip of .250 in AAA right now. Edited August 1, 201411 yr by Kalapse
August 1, 201411 yr Wait, Davidson has clearly regressed at Charlotte and he's being penciled into the lineup next year? Come on guys!
August 1, 201411 yr Casey Janssen & Luke Gregerson combined would probably cost nearly $15-$20 million a season, that seems a bit excessive for bullpen help.
August 1, 201411 yr 1. Adam Eaton, CF 2. Marcus Semien, 2B 3. Jose Abreu, 1B 4. Victor Martinez, DH (2 years, $30M) 5. Melky Cabrera, LF (3 years, $39M) 6. Avisail Garcia, RF 7. Conor Gillaspie, 3B 8. Yasmani Grandal, C (acquired for Davidson & Beck) 9. Alexei Ramirez, SS

Melky Cabrera, LF (3 years, $39M) 6. Avisail Garcia, RF 7. Conor Gillaspie, 3B 8. Yasmani Grandal, C (acquired for Davidson & Beck) 9. Alexei Ramirez, SS Honestly I like that idea, but I have to wonder if he can be had that cheap. He's hitting like he did just before his PED bust and at only 30 you know some GM will offer him way more. He's actually hitting better away from his home band box in Toronto.

August 1, 201411 yr Hopefully Detroit having to pay either Price/Max big $$ means they can't afford VMart....Sox go balls out because 1. They're close 2. They haz the moneyz 3. Also I wonder If Grandals career can be resurrected , or was he just highly touted because of the ped? Any way you look at his number they are just awful lol Agreed. Now that they have Price to replace Scherzer, they can afford to give VMart a bigger contract to stay for a couple years.
August 1, 201411 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 08:21 PM) Honestly I like that idea, but I have to wonder if he can be had that cheap. He's hitting like he did just before his PED bust and at only 30 you know some GM will offer him way more. He's actually hitting better away from his home band box in Toronto. I think most GMs will have some caution with Melky because of his prior PED bust, but you're right, it only takes one GM to do something stupid. Probably a bit unrealistic, but maybe he wants to hit free agency one more time at 33? Regardless, he's definitely the type of bat we should be looking to add.
