August 31, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 09:55 AM) It didnt happen yet can we trade tank and danks too before 11pm. Ok?
August 31, 201411 yr Former 2012 2nd round pick. Some nice stats in relief this year. Way more than I thought they would get for Dunn.
August 31, 201411 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:44 AM) Sanburn looks like a nice get for Dunn. John Danks, front and center please. Yeah, strictly a reliever. he's 23 but should start out next year in AA or even AAA.
August 31, 201411 yr Pretty cool to see so many at bats freed up for Wilkins, Sanchez, Semien and. Mitchell the rest of the way
August 31, 201411 yr Let's get Viciedo's bags packed so the Sox can get Semien out there in LF! Come on Hahn, keep it up. Edited August 31, 201411 yr by StRoostifer
August 31, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:50 AM) Does anyone think Lindstrom or any of the other relievers go today as well? We can only hope
August 31, 201411 yr I love it. Hahn getting ridding of baggage for possible relievers. We need more bullpen candidates in our farm. Edited August 31, 201411 yr by ron883
August 31, 201411 yr QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 09:50 AM) Does anyone think Lindstrom or any of the other relievers go today as well? Hahn is trading assets for relievers so I wouldn't think we would deplete what we need the most.
August 31, 201411 yr 12th rated prospect in the A's system per mlb.com.....10th by baseball america Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 60 | Slider: 50 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 45 Sanburn has less mileage on his arm than most pitching prospects. He was better known as an outfielder in high school, and he worked just 73 innings in two seasons as a reliever at Arkansas. Signed for $710,000 as a Draft-eligible sophomore after being taken in the second round in 2012, Sanburn pitched just 48 2/3 frames in his first two seasons as a pro, after a shoulder strain sidelined him for most of last year. Sanburn was healthy again at the end of the season. In instructional league, he was back to throwing 93-95 mph heat. Sanburn reached 99 mph as a college reliever, and he can throw his fastball by hitters up in the zone. His low-80s curveball has good depth, and it gives him a second power pitch. Sanburn can also display a tight slider and a sinking changeup, giving him more than enough options to start. Because of concerns about Sanburn's command and durability, Oakland has decided to move him to the bullpen. His ability to locate his pitches and keep his pitch counts down are less impressive than his pure stuff. BA called his slider a potential plus pitch, and mlb likes his curve....I'm hoping the Sox work with him and get em to start again. Glad Hahn held out for a good piece. I knew he wouldn't be traded for a PTBNL or $$. Dunn had value. Edited August 31, 201411 yr by scs787
August 31, 201411 yr Athletics acquired DH Adam Dunn and cash considerations from the White Sox in exchange for RHP Nolan Sanburn. Chicago is expected to cover $1.3 million of the $2.5 million remaining on Dunn's contract. The A's were on Dunn's limited no-trade list, but he waived the clause for the opportunity to play for a contender. Dunn, who has indicated that he might retire after the season, has never played in a playoff game. The hulking slugger has batted .220/.340/.433 with 20 homers and 54 RBI for the White Sox this season and the A's are hopeful that he'll spark a suddenly dormant offense. He play regularly in the DH spot versus righties and is expected to join the team on Monday. Per Rotoworld
August 31, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:55 AM) Wait, we got a live arm for Dunn? Neat. We should have DFAed him raaaaaah *gnashes teeth*
August 31, 201411 yr 99.9999% sure on Rodon being signed 98.1333% on Dunn being traded (and I even figured the Athletics would be the team) 100% on wite being dialed Really nice return. Wishing Dunn luck the rest of the season.
