August 10, 201510 yr Scot Gregor @scotgregor 19m19 minutes ago Lot of good stuff from #WhiteSox GM Rick Hahn today. Didn't come out and say it but don't be surprised if he makes waiver trade or two Good question to Hahn from @ESPNChiSox about job security. Hahn said fear of losing job is not a motivator in how he operates
August 10, 201510 yr this is not a reaction to the positive comment from the sox gm Hahn. but i am wondering why there was no pep talk from the president of the sox org that he has made, it seems as every month. except for this month. either way, i am happy Hahn is still at the helm and making moves.
August 10, 201510 yr Author QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) going to guess it's bullpen Outgoing, not incoming would be my guess.
August 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:49 PM) going to guess it's bullpen yeah i agree. some teams are needing rp's, 1 team comes to mind is dodgers. another is hou.
August 10, 201510 yr Given the way people rarely leave the organization let along get outright fired job security should be the thing they should be least concerned over. Marl
August 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Outgoing, not incoming would be my guess. Yeah. have some decent arms coming up for bullpen, if petricka/putnam have any A-level live arms may be worth it.
August 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) Yeah. have some decent arms coming up for bullpen, if petricka/putnam have any A-level live arms may be worth it. I don't understand why you would trade Petricka or Putnam for a class A arm unless it is a really nice prospect. They make no money and have as much potential as anyone you would receive., if you want to trade one or both for an equally ranked hitter, that makes some sense.
August 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 06:14 PM) I don't understand why you would trade Petricka or Putnam for a class A arm unless it is a really nice prospect. They make no money and have as much potential as anyone you would receive., if you want to trade one or both for an equally ranked hitter, that makes some sense. I could still see someone giving up a quality price to improve their bullpen at this point in the season, and the White Sox are still in that boat of "having to shuffle arms around", esp. now that Jones is back. If they could get a warm body for Albers that would also be smart.
August 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 03:51 PM) Given the way people rarely leave the organization let along get outright fired job security should be the thing they should be least concerned over. Marl I heard Hahn was paid well for an assistant because he was highly sought by other organizations. So I don't think he's worried.
August 10, 201510 yr I think it is Shark to Toronto or Anaheim. Make them take LaRoche and it is for a garbage PTBNL. Robertson possible as well. Other than that a move is pointless and serves no purpose as the player coming back must clear waivers if the 40 man comes into play.
August 10, 201510 yr As much as I blame Hahn the least for all the poor decisions this organization has made over the past 8 seasons, I'm actually quite happy a reporter even came out to ask the question of job security. I almost feel like the lack of consequences this organization represents demonstrates an acceptance for poor results, poor drafting and at best mediocre baseball. Changes need to be made at the top. If it's not Hahn, it better be KW. If JR is not going to do that and actually accepts this lack of direction and poor decision by his President and/or GM, perhaps it's time he sells the team. I don't care how old you are as an owner, grow a backbone and demonstrate that their are consequences for consistent failure. My hope is that moves will be made this winter. KW and Robin will part ways and Hahn can finally bring in his own managerial choice, build his own farm system and after a few seasons of futility, right the ship. Unfortunately, I lack faith in JR to do what's right. Edited August 10, 201510 yr by GreatScott82
August 11, 201510 yr Outside of a bullpen arm, should we be expecting anything else (anyone need Ramirez)?
August 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (spiderman @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 08:57 PM) Outside of a bullpen arm, should we be expecting anything else (anyone need Ramirez)? I think he'd be an upgrade over Stephen Drew.
August 11, 201510 yr He also said that he doesn't consider us out of the Wild Card race yet, so I don't know about this.
August 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) He also said that he doesn't consider us out of the Wild Card race yet, so I don't know about this. That's crazy, but he has to say this. Can't back track after two weeks.

Not saying it will happen, but get hot and go win something like 12 out of 15 and they are right back in the conversation.
August 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:50 PM) And he's right. Not saying it will happen, but get hot and go win something like 12 out of 15 and they are right back in the conversation. But 12 of 15 just isn't happening. Something always goes wrong when we try and get on track.
August 11, 201510 yr Are you sure you want to make ANY trades Rick? I would hate to see the great chemistry you say this team has broken up.

August 11, 201510 yr If Hahn can dump Shark, LaRoche, Melky, Robertson, Duke and Lexi I'll be a happy camper for starters.
August 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 12:13 AM) If Hahn can dump Shark, LaRoche, Melky, Robertson, Duke and Lexi I'll be a happy camper for starters. Lol wake up! You're dreaming. Who would close? LF? Pitch the 8th? SS? I could see LaRoche given away and shark isn't leaving. Well get the comp pick.
