February 18, 201610 yr QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) Who's the next Ken Griffey Jr. / Manny Ramirez? (In relation to White Sox) Bryce Harper in 2029.
February 18, 201610 yr QUOTE (scs787 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 04:59 PM) Carl Crawford. I actually wouldnt mind that depending on how much money was taken by the Dodgers. This is a little random. But atleast we dont have the most delusional front office under Jerry's watch.....Bulls are really attracting some attention.
February 19, 201610 yr QUOTE (scs787 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 04:59 PM) Carl Crawford. I'd rather have Avi out there. And if Crawford a White Sox, odds are pretty high that Avi would be out there a lot anyway.
February 19, 201610 yr In all fairness, Alexei Ramirez was compared to utility guys like Ramon Santiago coming out of Cuba. So he and Abreu are two huge reasons that Cuban market is now overscouted and analyzed compared to ten years ago. And no doubt there has been a lot of high expectations for guys like Viciedo, Rusney Castillo, Alex Guerrero and Tomas who haven't delivered...at least not as projected. February 19, 201610 yr QUOTE (scs787 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 10:59 PM) Carl Crawford. only if they sweeten the deal with some of the dodgers prospect |s|, comp pick |s| and cash. Edited February 19, 201610 yr by LDF
February 19, 201610 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) only if they sweeten the deal with some of the dodgers prospect |s|, comp pick |s| and cash. What? You can't trade compensation picks. You can only trade competitive balance picks, which LAD does not get. Edited February 19, 201610 yr by lasttriptotulsa
February 19, 201610 yr QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Honestly, Yadiel could work out well for this team. From the sounds of it, he isn't really regarded as a potential star, but does have some upside. Scouts have seen him more as a 4th OFer type along the lines of a Daniel Nava. While that might not be all that exciting, it could allow the Sox to give Avi the first crack and then bring him up in May or June. We should have signed Nava when he was availablein December. Angels may cut him this spring so Hahn may get a 2nd chance.
February 19, 201610 yr QUOTE (SCCWS @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 08:32 AM) We should have signed Nava when he was availablein December. Angels may cut him this spring so Hahn may get a 2nd chance. We have JB Shuck, who's probably a better backup at this point than Nava
February 19, 201610 yr Jon HeymanVerified account @JonHeyman 3m3 minutes ago Indians seem to be considering Austin Jackson. Other possibilities include chisox, angels, milw, maybe Texas (low on $ tho)
February 19, 201610 yr Jon Heyman @JonHeyman 1m1 minute ago Chisox seem to be considering adding OF. May prefer one than can play some CF. A-jax perhaps, and if they'll spend, fowler

February 19, 201610 yr QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) The revelation that we're in the market for an OF today..is...a real stunner My wild guess: we get Either on March 23rd.
February 20, 201610 yr Isn't the competition for Ethier likely to pick up between now and then based on spring training injuries? It doesn't feel like that deal comes closer to fruition the nearer they get to Opening Day. Let's put it this way...when is the last time that we can remember a core player being traded at that time by a contending team? Most importantly, we don't have a willingness to trade our top three prospects to shave Ethier's deal down to reasonable salary terms.
February 20, 201610 yr QUOTE (hi8is @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) My wild guess: we get Either on March 23rd. Either who or who ?
February 20, 201610 yr http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/02/19/lev...outfield-depth/ One stupid point in article is saying that the Rockies will trade cargo. I'm pretty sure that isn't happening
February 20, 201610 yr Since CarGo's continued presence was used as leverage with Parra and they already dealt Dickerson to TB, not seeing the logic here.
February 20, 201610 yr Levine is a buffoon but what he says here has been the rumor since the Parra signing. The Colorado Rockies at some point will likely trade outfielder Carlos Gonzalez this season, but the timing of that may not sync up with the White Sox’s timetable. The Rockies probably will trade CarGo at the deadline or next winter which does not line up with the Sox timetable so Levine is right about that. That said, there was really no point in Levine bringing up CarGo outside of his stating the obvious as usual. Edited February 20, 201610 yr by BlackSox13
February 20, 201610 yr Neither Cargo nor Ethier help a wretched OF defense and both would be ridiculous in CF, so hopefully that will save the Sox from pursuit of those 2.
