2016-2017 NFL Thread

I don't think so, Leno was good and he's cheap. I think they'd rather either sign a RT and swing Long back to guard, or shore up their interior.

The #1 priority is going to be ILBs, WR depth and DE

Yeah I think they wouldnt have done that unless they thought Leno would fill that role.

I think if Staley is available, the Bears very well might take him. I don't know that Leno is solid to above average. He did do an admirable job given his draft status though.

Come on, they covered the s*** out of Ray Rice, DeflateGate, etc. None of those were favorable stories for the NFL.

weren't they also the source of all of that made-up bulls*** about the testing etc? they poisoned the well on that one at the start.

Roger Goodell earned $34 million in 2014, despite a base salary about 11 times less than that amount. His salary will no longer be public as the NFL has ridden of its non-profit status.

According to Whitlock (consider the source), the writer of that article is a known liar. He's a white dude that complains all the time about treatment of black athletes. Apparently Whitlock was going to hire him for his ESPN site but they couldn't substantiate a lot of stories he told, so they moved on. edit: this was all on the dan patrick show this morning.

Shaun King?

It may seem excessive but given how much money the NFL makes nowadays, each owner would happily pay $1 million each to keep this gravy train rolling despite some of Goodell's decisions.

Roger takes all of the abuse so that the individual teams and owners don't have to.

Yep.

Yep.

Shaun King is a black man and Whitlock is being racist against one of his own people.

You are confusing the former football player with the writer, who I think is biracial.

Is that possible?

He's biracial, black and white both.

Whitlock is calling him white only and trying to discredit him.

I think he was more trying to say he's not the victimized black man that he portrays himself as. He gave an example that King claimed he was beaten up for being black but when Whitlock/ESPN went digging for corroboration of that story they couldn't find any.

edit: looking at his wiki page, there is a mention that a reporter found his birth certificate that named two white parents. King claims the father is not his real biological father though.

I looked at the people on the birth certificate. There is no way on this Earth that those two people made a person that looks like Mr. King.

I would take the abuse and make equally terrible decisions for a tenth of that.

Clay Travis may also be the worst writer in sports journalism.

He's the definition of a troll. Up there with Bayless and maybe more.

Jared Allen retires.

shudders. Going to wait for when we aren't posting Clay Travis articles in here.

Excited Chase Daniel may get a starting gig in Philly.

Except in this case, Clay Travis is proving to be pretty spot-on. Actually read his article. The Manning accuser is losing any credibility. She was reported to the FBI for threatening phone calls last year. Check out her Facebook posts that are floating around. Ramblings of a crazy person.
