This loss is on Renteria.

Well, it's hard to blame him for not wanting to try to get at least one more inning out of Q and see if he could finally settle into the game with the White Sox back into it...I'm not going to be angry about it, because TOR starters have to battle through those setbacks when they don't have their best stuff. The bullpen has really been taxed by nearly all of the Sox starters this season, especially Covey and Pelfrey.

And still don't think this game is quite over....not just yet.

That second pitch to Tim wasn't close to a strike.

But he doesn't let it affect him. Nice approach back up the middle.

Renteria is a candidate for Manager of the Year to have THIS team with the 7th best RS/RA differential in all of MLB.

Those top six are all "superpower" teams.

Too bad we couldn't get Timmy into scoring position and knock another run off that deficit.

Sure, even Tyler Danish looked okay despite his early game struggles.

The problem is that none of those guys (other than possibly Dunning) profile as anything more than back of the rotation guys. Dunning was projected by most scouts to be a 3/4 type of guy, at least. But unless he can really develop/refine his secondary pitches, he's going to struggle. He got away with mostly his fastball in the SALLY League, but then hit a wall with better hitters in Advanced A.

Adams has never lived up to that early athletic potential and "frame" projection...in terms of increasing his velocity from 89-92 into the mid 90's.

Q now with a 5.60 ERA

That has been FIVE innings with 4 or more runs given up this year, and TWO IN A SINGLE GAME. Just think he buckled under the pressure of facing Sale, and you wouldn't have predicted that with how cool he's been for most of his major league career with the Sox.

Hansen doesn't profile as a TOR starter?

Disappointed all the way around. Bosox .190 hitter with two homers and five RBIs and we miss the Big homer by a few feet.

But I don't know how Q's struggles tonite morphed into a complete meltdown of the entire list of pitching prospects of the organization?

What board do you think you're on?

Well, you know, as bad as Q has been, the offense has been as pleasantly good this year. Some really f***ing good at bats tonight against Sale.

I shockingly feel better about the future of the offense than pitching

1:40 for the first three innings...yikes. Paging Rob Manfred.

I guess the concessionaires are happy? What's the weather/crowd like tonight? Full lower bowl?

SI might have been right about the Astros for 2017. They're about to be 21 games over .500 and it's not even 1/3rd of the way into the season. Remember when the 2006 White Sox were 26 games over .500 at the All-Star Break? It's crazy how well the Stros are playing. Now the whole predicted part about matching up with the Cubs in the WS...not sure about that one.

Our pitching will be fine. And if you don't believe it will, we best be holding on to Q anyways.

It's just a shame that we've now got a major piece we were planning on cashing in lose its value.

Going to have to make that up somewhere else.

Just think of getting Robert as the consolation

Cue Eddie Butler shutout coming...

Have to credit Maddon to sticking with Schwarber at the top of the order...assuming it eventually pans out. The White Sox never were able to show that kind of patience with their young hitters, but having won the WS last year really takes at least 50% of the pressure they would be under this year had they lost to the Indians.
