You sort of contradict yourself. This post defends the rebuild, but...

"It is kind of funny that Hahn and company thought the culture of this team was so great that Manny would want to re-sign here if he was on this particular team.  Sometimes I wonder if the front office has a grasp on reality"

...contradicts that as you seem to say Hahn is clueless.

You expected better?

No I didn't but still the White Sox should have won this game. As former Raiders coach  Al Davis use to say, "Just Win Baby". As I've stated before I think it was wrong to trade Robertson and Jennings last season. It has left this team with a horrendous bullpen. Rentieria thought so little of Bummer that he didn't bring him in the 9th inning  today to face the batter who wound up hitting the winning home run.

If pitching well now is so important,  why shouldn't fans be freaked out by Gio and Fulmer?

All of these guys have enough stuff to be really good, but command and control seem to be an issue with all. It obviously isn't that uncommon or guys that throw 100 would never be available for next to nothing. Coop needs to fix them, or at least one of them. I think throwing strikes is probably going to be an issue with the other big name prospects as well, when it' their time.

Giolito is a gigantic concern.  Fulmer is destined to be a reliever.  I do wonder how Cooper's teaching philosophy will translate to the new way hitting is taught with a focus on loft.

I realized when Hahn traded our entire bullpen last mid season for nothing that this bullpen would be bad this year. I can now say that other than Lopez this entire pitching staff has to be the worse staff in my lifetime. Hahn has said the last 2 seasons that the team was "Mired In Mediocrity". And he might have been right but now this team is a out and out disaster. 4 of the 5 starters can't get anybody out and the bullpen is probably as bad as the starters. This is one of the most shameful things I have seen as a White Sox fan.

Shameful is a good word. I truly hope the Sox get mocked in the media and everywhere during the three Cub massacres. I see no scenario in which the Sox win a game. It would have to just be one of those 60 that every team wins. Or in this case one of the 48 wins. I wish the commissioner would fine the Sox a LOT of money. Going into a season with Shields and MiGo as top two starters and Nate Jones (lol) and Soria (bigger lol) as your two late inning guys means you are trying to win 5-8 games a month ... PERIOD!! Fine the White Sox for making a mockery of baseball!! And do it now, mr. Commish.

Good point fathom. You are on fire today with your posts. Only posts of yours I despise are the ones in which you are pining for the No. 1 pick. You are better than that. But, sir, your posts are otherwise 9s out of 10. Thank u.

Clearly Ricky should have put in David Robertson, or Tommy Kahnle, or Anthony Swarzak

Robertson is a free agent at the end of this year. I would welcome him back in a minute. He's better than anybody we have in the bullpen now.

The sooner people allow themselves not to worry about players that will have no impact on the roster in two years, the easier this will be for them. I would much rather Lopez pitch great and they lose than for him to have done horrible with bad velocity and they sneak out a win.

The sooner people quit stressing about the minutia of the rebuild the better of they would be.  Nate Jones blowing a game in the second year of the rebuild has zero impact on anything for the future of this franchise.  None.

Maybe it's because Bummer has already allowed 11 inherited runners to score and shouldn't even be on a big league roster. If so, I applaud his thinking.

Just read where the Sox 3-15 start at home is the worst in franchise history.

I'm off to bed have a good day guys if possible .

Y'know that last innings was like my soccer team manager putting a rookie striker on with 10 mins left and taking the goalkeeper off , just for some game experience .

If anything, it helps in terms of draft standing

I'm upset. I wish you'd respond to my point about going into a season with Shields and MiGo as 1-2 starters and Nate and Soria as 8th and 9th inning guys. I mean cmon. The Sixers weren't even this disingenuous. Right?? Pls. respond.

If they offer him the most money, yes.

They'll lose 100 games if they offer him the most money? I think you misunderstood what I wrote.

He said Machado won't come here because the Sox will lose 100 games, and my response was that the Sox won't lose 100 games if they sign Machado.

It's a chicken and egg argument. Some fans like to win games and can't just write off seasons. I don't think that makes them bad fans. Not everybody can 'embrace the suck.' It's very difficult to do IMO.

So walk away.  Come back in a few years when the bandwagon backs up again.

Sure. There's 162 games. No way the Sox are going to go 62-100. I'd bet you they lose at least 101. That's a lock for me.

Thought you meant next year. My bad.

You're right. They will lose 101+, and assuming the standings finish the way they did in 2017, that will be enough to have the first overall pick which is definitely more exciting than finishing 75-87 and finishing 10 GB of 1st.

I'm being serious. I'll drop the topic if somebody can explain to me how this isn't blatant obvious tanking, trying to lose when that's against the mantra of sports and competition? I think it's one of my best examples ever. I'll give it one final shot then stop on this topic: Please please answer: Our team opened the season with MiGo and Shields as 2-1 starters and Nate and Soria as 8th-9th guys. That's not trying to lose 110 games?? I told you KC fans wanted to personally escort Soria to KCI for a plane to Chicago. Nate is unproven and frankly not good. ... And don't say the plan is to totally revamp at the break. There are no obvious plans to bring up the rebuild guys this season. Last chance for somebody to respond with a real response as I'm done with the topic in 3, 2, 1 ....
