What would you pay Cespedes if it was up to you?

At this point? Cespedes was the one I wanted least of the big three, but:

I'd go up to 5/125. He's a four win upgrade over Avi and I believe in this team as a mid-80's winner with that upgrade.

Recue: but where would he play?

I'm just talking a little smack. I don't really believe ARod is coming to play for the Sox.

Pretty sure ARod and JR go back a few years so if they had lunch there's probably nothing to it.

Interesting.

That would probably go down as the most bizarre/nonsensical contract in baseball history.

The #Whitesox still have interest in Yoenis Cespedes, but have not changed stance: Nothing more than 3 years

lmao

Wow. Some heavy duty posturing going on here.

Why the Justin Upton contract is the best move of the offseason...

Stuck it here because it has a very good discussion of the ramifications of the opt-out trend in baseball and why it's much more likely the Tigers don't end up with Upton long-term but get the benefit of his services these next two years that are probably the last open window of contention.

Shocked it took so long to come out. Probably means sox are offering 3 years and they are discussing option years. They have no chance to get him if it's only 3 years.

So, if 3 years is true what $$$ do the Sox offer this guy? I can't imagine 3 years would work Would it??

Who has said they would go 4?

Honestly I forget. I've posted so many links to the Cespedes saga I can't remember it all but I have seen a few times that the Sox were reportedly willing to go a fourth year.

ChiSoxFanMike: you alright bud? I'm starting to wonder if you will melt down if Cespedes doesn't sign. You're too young to be on heart medications. :)
