I like Sanders because 1) he has integrity that pretty much every other candidate lacks and 2) he's willing to go after Wall Street in the way that no other candidate will

If the rest of his positions weren't so far out there, I'd consider voting for him. As it stands, I wouldn't hate him becoming President because Congress would block all of the bizarre stuff he wants to do.

Yeah, the reason he gets lumped in with the right wing extremists despite being a fairly run of the mill new deal Democrat is the terrible "the truth lies in the middle" narrative.

"moderate" shifts with how the electorate shifts, so there's nothing inherently good (or bad!) about holding positions in-between the current party ideologies. Supporting moderation of moderation sake rewards increasingly rigid ideological extremism. See :the very idea of even considering a presidents SC nominee is being presented as the moderate position rather than the minimally acceptable position.

I also don't really get the Bernie Sanders has these super far left crazy ideas narrative. What has been the most radical thing that he has proposed? Probably making college tuition free at public schools or raising the minimum wage? Those aren't really far out crazy ideas. It's not like he has been quoting Marx on the means of production or something.

Some of this is his own fault for calling himself a democratic socialist. He really isn't and people think different things when they hear that.

Stating that he isn't opposed to a 90% top marginal tax rate is pretty radical.

Look, I like Bernie the person. I think he is a man of his convictions and he truly means well. But, I vehemently oppose most of his ideologies. If he had Hillary's political leanings, I, a Republican, would gladly vote for that candidate this fall since it appears the GOP is going to be nominating an idiot.

I'm in the same boat exactly. I wish one of the moderate candidates had his integrity.

I've been reading Balta's posts about Republican platform of racism which makes me shake my head. But it got me to thinking about the Clinton's relationship with African American voters. It's the stuff of which landslides are made.

Once Bernie is done and drops out, there's gonna be the biggest lovefest in political history regarding Hillary and how everybody (cept young women) love her. Folks, if it is she vs. Trump, Trump's head is going to explode over the coverage of the election. It's gonna be entertaining. Get ready for fireworks.

If I'm posting too much about Hillary let me know. I just sense the biggest landslide in presidential election history coming up. Remember, once Bernie is out, the Democrats WILL rally from all nooks and crannies to sing her praises. That's why some of us call it a "coronation."

We passed that point a long time ago, told you, and you continued.

We had a 90% top rate for a while in the past.

It would also have zero chance of passing with a Republican controlled house anyway.

90% would have a zero percent chance of passing regardless of who controls the House. And Sanders isn't even suggesting that in his plan, he just hinted he'd be open to it.

While this is true, tax rates that high are more defensible when following a world war that we need to pay for, and people are pumped about winning.

Technically, those tax rates lasted much after we stopped "paying for" the war and just continued as the debt stabilized (we mostly just paid for that war by growing the economy).

Clinton wins in a landslide in SC. 85% of the black vote. That's making for some..."interesting" takes from bernie backers tonight. His base really are their own worst enemy.

The Clintons have it made. As you pointed out they have the black vote. Just like Barack had it, she's got it as much or perhaps even more. Bernie's beaten and once it's Hillary vs. Donald, Donald is gonna get smoked. I wonder if his ego will be able to handle a very very difficult task vs. Hillary. Is Donald in it for when the going gets tough?

I know I constantly express my disdain for Hillary. Seriously though, could her advisers tell her to work on her delivery? Screaming into the mic is very annoying to me at least.

Let's face it. Democrats on here can rip me all they want, but Hillary is just as awful a candidate as the Republicans are throwing out there. How come this isn't getting more attention? How come African Americans don't want to hear it about Hillary? Everybody's already made up their minds she's perfect in regard to issues regarding African Americans. This kid speaks up and this gets no attention at all.

Look all I'm saying is Hillary is an awful candidate. Bernie is pretty bad himself if he wants only socialism. Cruz, Trump and Rubio obviously are horrific as well. Kasisch is the only possible candidate worth voting for IMO. But please agree with me that Hillary is as rotten as the rest.

Chris Matthews thinks that Hillary should bring John Kasich as her VP. The Clintons have crossed party lines before. I actually like that idea. Basically insures her Ohio.

Kasich won't be VP to a pro-choice President. He's moderate on a lot of issues but very strongly pro-life.

So he would turn down being the Vice President of the United States because the president believes in a woman's right to choose?

It's not even worth discussing. It gives beltway media hard-ons, but 1) Kasich would never do it and 2) Hillary would never do it. You realize she's basically saying "if I die, I'd rather a republican be president than a dem".
