You basically need to have Bonemer and Cholowsky in reserve to make up for the loss of Mune. Unless the new CBA mandates a $120-135 million salary floor and they pretty much have no choice but to invest the long term money into him.

I think not getting the AS break is hitting them both a bit. Day off at home will do them some good. The most encouraging thing about the recent play in the road is you can still see them lose focus a bit from time to time, but they’re snapping back quickly. Flying, hotels, shitty visitor clubhouses, not sleeping in your own bed….road trips are mentally draining. Losing focus on the road is inevitable for any team in any sport…it’s getting into the habit of refocusing that shows maturity.

playing 1 game under from now until 162 gets us 84-78. At this point, I think you have to at least add a bit. Bullpen arm if nothing else. 86 wins probably gets a WC spot in the AL and 88 wins probably takes the central.

Once again, they never stay down for long. 7-2 since Mune returned without him really getting going yet. 3 wins and 1 split in their last 4 road series. Aside from yesterday, the pitching has been fantastic lately. 3 or fewer runs allowed in 8 of their last 10 games. If they want to keep up this pattern of win by a lot struggle to score win by a little for the rest of the season, I think we'll be happy with the end result. Cleveland loss went final earlier, so back to a game up. Add at least two more days to the count:
