  1. Past hour
  2. Something tells me they're due. Hard to imagine not losing 4 in a row in 2026. Last year was the norm.
  3. Juan Gonzalez might still be the most famous case here....
  4. 5 points on the scouting grade better speed, but not a Witt Jr./de la Cruz type by any stretch of the imagination.
  5. It’s a good question. Outside of the hit tool, where is he superior?
  6. 2Deep, I think they're going to channel some controlled anger into an offensive explosion!
  7. It’s an annual routine for Getz. He usually sets fire to around $30 million each offseason.
  8. Today
  9. I don’t think the question is “can Burke get it done” as much as it is “can the pen hold it”
  10. There was a Cleveland sports talk station on AM that I could get in the evening on the road. Their guy was once complaining that every member of that 90's team, Belle, Ramirez, Lofton, Vizquel, Alomar, Thome - were all going to wind up on the White Sox in free agency. Lo and behold...
  11. Anybody got any good stories from Jacob's field?(f*** Flo) https://www.soxtalk.com/forums/topic/113386-white-sox-vs-guardians-820-510pm-cdt-cueto-vs-bieber/ I went to the 8/20/2022 game. We won. Johnny Cueto pitched a 5 hit 8.2 inning gem. Grandal got hurt on one of the worst sends of all time(more on that in a minute). Game had a long delay to start. So I was drinking and ranting about the team to my dad. I hated that 2022 team with a passion, and it's when I started creeping on this board. Felt like baseball purgatory. Anyway, a cleveland lady turns around and says "we're pretty miserable too. At least your team doesn't let all their good players walk. We never pay anybody." Then she went on a rant of her own. Rather than start a dumb argument about who has it worse I said, "fans of any team from the AL central are probably pretty miserable." Game was a pitchers duel. We were winning 1-0 in the 7th and Grandal hits a lead off double. We were all wondering why no pinch runner? Andrus gets a base hit and they send Grandal and we are already laughing at this point. Then he's out by a mile and goes down. There were two random White Sox fans sitting next to us and we were all just dying laughing. Because that play pretty much summed up the 2022 White Sox and all you could do was laugh or cry. Then I noticed all the cleveland fans had turned around and were gaping at us like we were monsters who celebrate our player getting hurt. But that one chick from earlier gave me a smile and a nod and said I see why you were complaining. So yeah, there might be some cleveland fans who think we are worse than yankees fans and it's partly my fault and I apologize haha. Anyway, we already had some terrible baserunning plays this series so we got that out of the way. Let's get Burke motivated by the ghost of Johnny Cueto and have him pitch a gem tonight!
  12. Getz basically set 26 million dollars on fire this off season. Dominguez and Hays have been a total dumpster fire
  13. Sir Anthony needs to start getting regular work as a set up guy. Let Taylor close. I think Domínguez will be better with some regular work in a regular role. We are stuck with him anyway.
  14. Rockin and a Rollin Splishin and a Splashin Over the horizon, what can it be? Looks like it's going to be....a Sox victory Yay!!!!!!
  15. My biggest draft question with a week to go. Why is there an assumption that Grady Emerson's ceiling is higher than Roch Cholowsky's?
  16. While we all would love to see Reid Detmers pitching for the White Sox TODAY, I seriously doubt any team is ready to cut bait at least until the week of July 20th. Even then, there's a good half a dozen teams who will wait until the final weekend before deciding whether they buy or sell.
  17. Burke is the only starter with better splits on the road, need him to keep that up and be a big stopper today. Sox are the only team in MLB to not lose 4 in a row, let's keep that goin. Happy 4th everyone! It's a bad day to be a beer.
  18. God bless America and the White Sox.
  19. Massive game tonight. A win puts us back in a tie for 1st…a loss puts us two games out. Is Burke up for the task and can he give us at least six strong? That will likely decide our fate tonight. Let’s fucking go and happy 4th to all of y’all!

  21. The latter point is totally fair. But I don’t think Getz deserves to be ridiculed for the pitching staff not being good. This team is a year ahead of schedule for many reasons that most here didn’t see coming. He also had a plan in place which relied on his young pitchers making a lot of starts. The problem is that plan has gone haywire due to injuries and Shane Smith shitting the bed. And now with a strong positional group in place, it puts what was planned to be a development pitching wise at conflict with an ability to compete in a weak AL. Getz needs to find a way to balance two competing priories: 1) continue to develop your young core that should be able to compete for years to come, 2) take advantage of a weak American League with a team ahead of schedule. That won’t be easy, but should be doable. He also has to take an honest look at what he has in-house to shore up the pitching in the interim. Who will be ready and what roles are willing to use them in. Tanner McDougal could really help shore up the bullpen, but do we want to risk his long term development as a SP in doing so? Those are the trade-offs Getz to needs to consider and act on fast.
  22. highest road bullpen era in baseball easily according to the cle crew. just costing us time and time again. we should be 10 over 500 with this offense. these aren't usually 1 run leads they are blowing. we are talking a run an inning type s%*# on the road. era is like 8 or something after the 6th.
