This is just sad for anyone who was a pro baseball player, let alone a pitcher.

It's just sad that the stadium got that loud for those hits in the 5th. It's the first World Series game in St. Pete since 2008 and they get out attended by a smaller market in Milwaukee.

John Schriffen officially out as White Sox PBP voice
Randazzo would be excellent. I wish Stone would spend more time using his area of expertise: explaining baseball aspects, both good and bad, for the Sox and the opponent. And spend less time being a house-horse. It's just patronizing really.

Showed up as a moron schmo who I finally got used to now that he is gone. Spare me the national search bs. I don't want someone who does not know the Sox.

Infield situation...
Bit of a hollow bittersweet ending for Cubs' fans though

Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer

I wouldn't say he was terrible. I would agree that it didn't feel authentic a lot of the time and felt forced or cringe. I think he genuinely wanted to connect with the fans and be apart of the Chicago White Sox. He just never really seemed to connect well with the team or even the city. Jon also didn't do himself any favors when he made Chicago media enemies at the beginning of his tenure.

Coach Q recruits kids from the Downers Grove Panthers Bill George Youth Football League (BGYFL), as he lives right in the area in Hinsdale. That’s how my son ended up going to BR and how he almost nabbed Owen Lansu when he was first hired as BR’s new coach. Lansu’s dad actually coached the Panthers and Q would attend many Panthers home games on the weekends at Doerhoefer Park, with his own kids in tow. Lansu chose DG North HS instead. Sam Holcomb played for the DG Panthers as well and his dad Greg is a QB coach/trainer and owner of Next Level Quarterback Academy. He was J.J. McCarthy’s personal QB coach since grade school. I’m sure Coach Q met Holcomb and his dad at a Panthers game and convinced him to go to BR with CJ Gray leaving as a senior for West Point. Holcomb and his family used to live in Downers Grove but I think they have since moved to Carol Stream. He made it known via social media that he was headed to BR right after they won the state championship…- Schriffen: "It's been an amazing three years". Implies that them calling Sox games together is over. Could Stone be on his way out?

No, he just leaves his partner out to try for long periods of time during broadcasts when he doesn't feel like it anymore.- John Schriffen officially out as White Sox PBP voice

I saw Benet went 2-8 in its first year with some former NFL star James White at the helm. Benet is never "good" but never this bad. I wonder if this guy knows how to recruit. WS2023 do teams in the suburbs recruit as they do in the city? How did Rice get this phenom Holcomb? Did he live in the neighborhood or do we drive him in for class every day from LaGrange or somewhere?- John Schriffen officially out as White Sox PBP voice
I'm not sure I would call that a relationship?- Five off season questions...
Please don't bring up Castillo. He's obviously done, cooked, terrible. Unless he learns the knuckleball he should retire. I just meant we can load up the bullpen with no names cause a body is a body for a 1 inning stint. A dominant starter meant something back in the day. Now all these guys are capable of 10 Ks or more an inning thru five. They are all flamethrowers. Boring.- John Schriffen officially out as White Sox PBP voice
https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/article/joe-buck-and-troy-aikman-could-be-headed-for-a-split-why-that-matters-more-than-you-think-152044951.html Sportscasters' voices imprint on our minds and hearts, particularly if we start listening to them young. For me, legendary Braves broadcasters Skip Caray and Ernie Johnson Sr. were the soundtrack of my childhood. For you, maybe it was Vin Scully, or Harry Caray, or Jack Buck, or Howard Cosell, or any of a dozen other bourbon-and-cigarette-soaked voices that brought games to life. We form a bond with these voices, voices that are with us for decades. We hear them sitting alongside our parents, we hear them when we're out on our own, we introduce them to our children. No matter what else is going on in life, you can always count on the voice of Al Michaels or Jim Nantz coming around again, the way we used to count on, say, John Madden and Keith Jackson.- Infield situation...
