With the continuing decrease in starters inning there is of course more innings to be covered by the pen. With a limitation on the number of pitchers, there really should be a role for a glue guy. Glue guy defined as (another old term) a rubber arm who can give you a couple of innings multiple days in a row. With max effort guys that is very hard to do. Richards kind of did that. Unreal what a Mike Marshall (106 games 208 ip or 90 games 142 ip at 36yo) or a Wilbur Wood would be worth to a team. Ok since both have passed away not worth much but someone pitching like them. With everything focusing on velocity, could movement etc make a comeback?

Yeah you could see it before the season started when he pitched in the prospect game last spring. Everyone was wild that game, but Oppor wasn’t throwing anything near the zone.

Cool? Don't need to rehash and I definitely don't want to change anyone's mind but he didn't go after kids. He made a comment about getting that poster's kids involved but that guy's kids are all adults. It was stupid and he deserves to be fired but it's not true that he was threatening children.

Lost all respect for him after the Patrick Kane situation. He would berate to no end anyone that even insinuated that the girl could be making the story up or overembellishing. Once it turned out to be a complete farce he never once apologized. Then there were the instances with Aiyana Cristal and eventually the kid he was going after on Twitter that ultimately got him canned from the score. He just seems like a miserable guy in general that masquerades as a holier than thou person.

Very versatile, can do tennis basketball Little League WS etc. A bit more by the book than Benetti, who has his distinctive corny dad jokes style. Pretty sure he's too professional to lock into a good ol boys network team.

It's sad you can replace the name Oppor with 3 other highly regarded names who took a step back as starters in the minors from 2025 to 2026 and it would fit.

Regarding Schriffen, I do remember that you weren’t quick to judge him and gave him a shot. It wasn’t until more recently that you were saying he was simply bad at the job and you thought he was going to be replaced, which ended up happening. Regarding Bernstein, did he really have a mental health crisis? Or is it simply what he used as an excuse for his own stupidity, ego, and rage? He went ballistic on a random Twitterer and threatened to dox his family/children just because the guy was trolling him and inferring that he didn’t follow Illinois fishing rules. He doesn’t interact on social media because his ego can’t handle it. He has always been a complete dick to many of his callers and to people on social media. It’s just like Steve Stone on Twitter. Stone stopped going on Twitter as much and responding to Sox fans because he was making a complete jackass of himself. I think the mental health crisis excuse is a load of BS. Not everything in life is a syndrome or crisis. Some people just need to own up to their own asshole personalities. Both Bernstein and Stone are quite simply egotistical dickheads.

I seriously question the mental sanity of any person who listens to Dan Bernstein in 2026.

My favorite part of the Schriffen stuff is people online accusing me of wanting to see this man lose his job when the same people are in my mentions and DM's wanting Colson Montgomery fired. Dan doesn't interact on social media anymore and had a legit mental health crisis essentially. This is the right platform for him now.

Bernstein was entertaining when on WSCR. I too did not agree with some/many things he said but at least he was entertaining and stood firm on his takes. However, he seemed to be losing his mind the last few years with the SCORE.......Now with his podcast he just rants and no one really cares. I genuinely can't identify anyone on radio now that I enjoy listening too.

Agreed. His podcast is really good. I only have time for unfiltered but need to look deeper into the library at 312.

I don't want to hear a word when people celebrate their eventual departures too.
