They couldn't get the big hit with multiple guys on these past 2 games. They had a ton of chances and just kept striking out or hit a sac fly. We couldn't buy a sac fly for the 2nd half yet we kept hitting them this series.

its always a good time. The FOs have played out just like the games. Cleveland touches Adell and he saves their lineup. We get geriatric Brazoban and he stubs his toe and cant pitch. 4/5 of our acquisitions arent even on the ALDS roster. Adell/Griffin saved this series for the Guardians. The deadline reminds me of my fantasy football draft. "Barkley is going to bounce back after his down year.. ill draft him over Walker.. oh and ill grab Jayden Daniels after.. heh im so smart". Meanwhile the guy thats going to win the league took Walker and waited on a QB till the ninth round that is performing very well. f***!!!!!

Great summary here. “Mandate” is the right word and “laying your shortcomings bare” is the right phrase. It’s why I was willing to part with a big prospect to get a legit pitcher and wanted a secondary serviceable veteran on a rental. This team would be a true World Series contender with those pieces right now and we’ll likely have to wait for next year to hope they build new strengths from current weaknesses. I still really hope they win but even if we had swept Cleveland in the DS - I look at the ALCS and feel that’s the end of the road for this Magic run. Over all, beyond the emotion and the recency bias… this year couldn’t have gone better. This team needs a rotation and experience. They’re getting a LOT of experience.

Don't forget Venable brought the infield in with the bases loaded in a 1 run game and it ended up costing us 4 more runs. If your goal is to cut the run down at home, you could have done that too if the ball was hit hard enough to either the SS or 2B playing at double play depth. You had a catcher running at 3B for crying out loud.

For the last two-three years the Hawks have been talking about all this top young talent, all these high draft picks. Reality is most of these guys look like dogshit. This team is terrible. Maybe they need to consider s%*# canning some of this top young talent (LOL) and go out and get some guys who actually know how to play. Right now at least this club looks worse than what's been out there the past few seasons. They haven't even made the playoffs in what seven years?
