  1. Past hour

  2. Two awful starts and two quality starts going 6 each with 1 ER and 3 ER. Maybe those two starts he got blooped around. Further investigation shows one of the blow outs he hit two guys and gave up two bombs. As much as I try to like it… I don’t.
  3. My hunch is Brazoban finds an IL stint
  4. Explains why we got this Merkin piece a week ago that is Caulfieldesq: https://www.mlb.com/news/be-where-your-feet-are-jonathan-cannon-s-journey-of-control-consistency-and-contentment In his last 9 starts, covering July and August, six of those outings were quality starts and commutatively showed a 1.035 WHIP. I didn’t realize he had been flashing signs of hope. Eek.
  5. Bingo - that’s why my Lineup from Hell has him hitting third. 💪🏼
  6. Yea - just like every bump in the road and scratch on the surface, they’ll have to make do. At least tomorrow a lefty in Gore is throwing so that would not be a usually Benni day.
  7. Oh God. Where’s the Soxtalk member who is undefeated when going on tinder dates? We need you to lock in and commit to going on 31 dates in the next 5 weeks. 😆
  8. You know, I don't think it's that crazy of a thing to do anymore. If you're grabbing him to be a 4th OF/platoon CF. You just pay him for the last month. Can be your 27th/28th man when rosters expand.
  9. Meh - they could have easily provided a more appealing package.
  10. Nobody here is ready for the Luis Robert waiver claim that reignites the lineup once he reunites with his pals Vargas and Colson
  11. Usually, a guy is who he is. His imperfections were well documented, and this should be no surprise.
  12. It sounds like these guys are being coached for power above all else, because when you do hit it its hard and does damage. I am not necessarily sure I agree with that approach. Pitchers seem to be better than ever nowadays and we need to be able to fight off tough pitches, and go with what the pitcher gives you, which is sometimes opposite field. The approach worked great for a month or 2 earlier this year but the league figured it out and they've been .500 since.
  13. Carl Everett was great at changing his stance and approach with two strikes. I wish Colson could do that.
  14. Cholowski should never do that.
  15. Unfortunately this year has been mostly turning gold into crap.
  16. Need a win tonight. Would love to see them play with some urgency here and treat this as a large game.
  17. Apparently Brian Bannister can't turn crap into gold after all.. Weird, when the team sucked, he was a guru. Now that they have been pretty good, he isn't a guru anymore.
  18. Im hoping this is just to eat innings if one of our starters falters these next few games.
  19. It’s really sad that my reaction to reading this post was, “Wow, I’m surprised he has struck out less than 50% of the time in August. It honestly feels like 75% of the time.”
  20. You can't because they have 3 hitters who have close to 30 home runs. Do the guardians?
  21. Didn’t have the pitching prospects needed to trade
  22. For those who have asked “But who should have Getz targeted?” while I’ve continued to criticize his lack of ambition in seeking a second starting pitcher at the deadline: I’ve answered this before. Foster Griffin has been my response. Nobody can argue that we wouldn’t have been capable of beating the crap package the Indians set out to Washington for him. He may end up being the difference in the AL Central title this year.
  23. Today

  24. I don't have a strong opinion about that one. It's only slightly less old school than "keep your eye on the ball". I think it's a swing thought that helps some guys sometimes, but I suspect that too much pull is more of a symptom than a cause for Colson.
  25. Its fine if they shove him in the pen and use him in games like last night.
  26. Sure, if you want to pretend someone out there is going to give them long innings and no runs. The pen is fried, and even bad long outings are better than burning through multiple relievers to get the same crappy innings.
