7/18, Sox @ Blue Jays, 7:07 AM Uninhabited Baker Island Time
Kind of shocked Teel is started a day game after a night game but I am glad Would be really nice if the Pirates could sweep CLE today
-
And that's a power caller White Sox winner.
It's wild right now...Cleveland, Minnesota can't lose and Detroit is still in the hunt.

Good call. Quick glance at the lineups this is is the first time all year with 3 games in a row with the same exact lineup. There was a 4 game stretch from 6/12-6/16 that was very close with only difference being Quero replacing Romo in the 9 spot 2nd game.

I actually don’t today which is weird. Last two days real bad, but nothing today’s. Maybe yesterday’s rain and today’s humidity is keeping the smoke dust down

Didn't smell smoke and it looks pretty clear here, so I think I'm okay in that regard. If not I had a good run for the most part.

If you still smell smoke, I hope you guys are wearing masks.

Happy "Same Lineup, Third Game in a Row" Day, for those who celebrate.

The last 10 minutes I felt like I was going to die 😂, and my lawn is not big enough to justify that death

Got the lawn mowed and I feel half melted right now. Going to sit on the couch and let my body solidify again until game time. I picture myself like this

Yeah, he's only 19 years old.

Will Venable's Managing
When a team is good, it’s because of the players. When a team is bad, the manager sucks. It reminds me of football. When a play works, great execution by the players. When a play gets stuffed, horrible play call.

Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox
I keep hearing this idea that he was blocked. He'd be leading the White Sox in wRC+. Pretty sure that guy should have a home and not be released for free. He was 3 years removed from his wrist break finally, so the idea his power could return was always possible. He always hit the ball hard before his injury. Edit: he'd be second to Mune. Also, you have a source for the Sox changing Mead?

Will Venable's Managing
These players are making him look awfully good.

Plus, by extension, Mead's success (along with the success of our other youngsters, Grichuk, etc.) helps to build a little more trade value for all of our hitters and reclamation project bats.

Monty's each cleared the bases. Thought Heidi Watney went to Apple.

Will Venable's Managing
Seems pretty apparent he is going to win manager of the year to me.

2027 - MLB Draft Thread
This years draft might sustain the minors for 3-4 years all by itself.

7/17 Games
The Sox catching core is deep. What if Boston Smith keeps going strong until September? I honestly know nothing about his defense. It's hard to judge a trade this early, but this guy looks like Willie McCovey in his prime right now. Weirdest part is he keeps improving the higher up he gets.

Game 2 Konerko GS, Pods game winning bomb. Game 3 Crede bomb, multiple hits in 5 run inning. Blum bomb on the 14th. Anecdotes are fun.

White Sox - Injury Tracker
So pumped to see how Thorpe does. I’m higher on him than most.

Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox
To be fair, Fuller deserves a ton of credit for Mead’s season. Last year they sent him away with a clear plan: stop being a tweener. Bulk up and look to hit for damage. They gave him swing fixes to achieve that. Mead was blocked, out of options, and played in the WBC so the Sox didn’t get a full look at the results of those changes. Also, Boston Smith is not a terrible outcome.

They had a neutral run differential, so all you really had to do is add a proven arm like Seranthony Dominguez to close out the close games and you're a .500 team!
