  1. Past hour

  2. Castillo is a failed acquisition. But gaining a dude at the deadline was clearly not a full throated effort by design. Lets see what happens next year when the heat is actually on him.
  3. He’s hitless against RHP in the playoffs. Has anyone gone back and watched his route on that double? It was so bad.
  4. Top 20 Mariners Prospects, Post Draft and Trade Deadline...Revising my Mariners prospect rankings following the 2026 MLB Draft and trade deadline.Keep in mind this is THE #1 system in baseball now...with MIL and LAD right there. Extensive Boston Smith write up.
  5. That’s not a test that Getz was given by the team. You’re assigning a grade based on a test you are personally judging him over. Like double secret probation. But you can’t please everyone as they say.
  6. The vets needed to come through. I understand Meidroth in game 3 striking out in the first inning the way he did, but the vets looking that bad cant happen.
  7. Braden is currently unplayable against lefties. Against righties hit him right where is now. .430 OPS in the season good for a 22 OPS+
  8. It's sad that I wouldn't even pencil in our 3 best pitching prospects coming into this year into the rotation. Locks: Burke, Martin, Castillo (contract), Kay (adding enough/guys getting promoted can add him to the bullpen in a long-relief/extra starter role) I would sign 2 SP bumping everyone down the depth chart. Teams need as many guys they can count on as possible.
  9. Getz has done a great job at rebuilding, but has failed in his first test at bolstering a contender. I think its fair to separate the two. The only thing that can absolve Deadline Getz, other than Castillo returning to form next year, is knowing who we were targeting, and what exactly was asked as far as prospect packages. Unfortunately we probably will never know. Like what were the Angels asking for Soriano or Detmers (if we were even on them at all)? If they wanted Hagen Smith or Schultz and one of Bonemer or Carlson, I understand the not going in on them. But man we could have just gone after Griffin.
  10. That was like last time. It was fun when there were a ton of moves to follow leading up to the lockout deadline.
  11. Fedde wasn't a mid-season acquisition FWIW. He signed February 10th.
  12. The deadline was bad, but you can’t leave out players like Fedde and Grichuk who were mid season acquisitions nonetheless. Hell we churned a ton over in April / May, I can’t even remember who all started.
  13. Yeah Randal's at bat yesterday prevented a huge inning. He looked way too antsy up there in that at bat. Hopefully not being in front of a home crowd has them playing better/loose.
  14. Deadline has absolutely cost this team. The "idea" Getz had was probably right, in terms of the volume he acquired. Having another reliable starter that could give you 4-5 innings and a 7th inning arm would infact probably be the difference right now between going to Game 5 vs. getting ready for the ALCS. He acquired both of those positions and neither one of them made the playoff roster. It was a huge swing and a miss that is probably going to cost them from advancing into the next round.
  15. Pretty much a perfect post, well done sir.
  16. Getz should have never gotten the job. I have always felt he was a part of the problem. They fired Kenny and Rick but kept their kid. The biggest problem is JR. He values loyalty, always has and always will. This team has overachieved so JR will reward Chris.
  17. Both "vets" Grichuk and Beni had awful at bats in big spots last night. They have been disappointing.
  18. Hell, I didn’t like the nepo pick. I didn’t necessarily like the Roch pick either. I didn’t like pitching staff. But I understand it’s just my opinion, and I understand their thinking, and ai understood the timeline of the plan when it is supposed to come together. Circa 2027-2028/29. Then we judge. But their plan such as it is, is working like a clock to this point.
  19. Braden is really young all this crap only makes him better. Not every player is Miguel Cabrera. I'm most pissed at the Grichuck AB than Bradens
  20. He did do a good job with this team
  21. But he is. He’s just doing a different job than the job you wanted him to do.
  22. Why fire anyone ever then? Who cares about doing a GOOD job
  23. And Cleveland gave up ~7 prospects for them, only one from their top 30 was included (#17). Meanwhile we gave up Adams (#7) and Smith (now ranked #14 in the Mariners system). We also gave up a high upside international prospect who has torched the DSL so far at 17 years old.
  24. Colson had good at bats yesterday. Going to have to roll with him. Brayden had a big hit in game 2, roll with him as well.
  25. Some Analytics will tell Venable to start Hudson ......
