  1. Past hour

  2. Man this is straight garbage
  3. I don't think taylor makes it into the starting rotation next year. I definitely think they go out and acquire at least one starting pitcher. The rebuild is over. Their competitive window is now open.
  4. Yes and no... Nothing compared to the heat on the other side of town...along with NYY, NYM, Phillies, Red Sox, Mariners, Blue Jays, Orioles, etc.
  5. D or an F. But like I said, they didn’t try real hard. Probably should have done nothing actually.
  6. Ain't that the truth. I would have left Fedde in to face Ramirez. It's not like he put in a lefty to face him and other than the hit from Kwan the batter before, he was cruising. They also needed some length.
  7. Who (else) do we have they would actually want besides Bonemer/Carlson/Cholowsky? Obviously they have a SS hole. What's his contract? Guess that JR would say no largely based on Acuna's injury history, Braden's presence and the small fact ATL won their WS without him. Otoh you have a heart-warming family reunion lol.
  8. Heat on Getz. The pressure will be on in 2027 and beyond because that is their earliest planned timeframe for the team to improve to the vision they had for it
  9. Kind of like having Colson shifted way up the middle when Taylor was throwing non stop curveballs to the first batter… that was a routine grounder that ended up being a single.
  10. Yeah well obviously the playoffs are a different situation, but hopefully our manager will have the brains to manage the staff better. And hopefully there will be a better staff to manage as well. But I do fully expect at least 1, if not both Hagen and Taylor, to be tried as a SP next year. We are likely still years away from this organization acquiring legit SP so have to make due with what’s here.
  11. He was judging Getz’s trade deadline moves which were an unmitigated disaster. What grade would you give that? It can’t be better than a D or F.
  12. This is the first game of the playoffs I have zero confidence in this team getting it done. the bullpen is absolutely gassed. Which means they probably win this in a blowout...because 2026 White Sox!
  13. Martin was Top 5 in mlb or least the AL for 2-3 months, almost made the All Star team...pretty darned terrible for three full months and then good again down the stretch. Could go the way of Shane Smith or re-establish himself as a rotation mainstay. Or anywhere in between and it wouldn't be much of a surprise. But don't see many clamoring for him to pitch again Saturday or this postseason. Maybe his body is just not 100% at this point with the late season injuries... I don't recall stating anywhere a payroll number for next year...just noted where it was at right now, which is $102 million counting Castillo. $145-150 million is pretty close to the mid point...Detroit Tigers. $170 was the opening owners' gambit but a realistic number is closer to $125/130. Honestly, there's not more than 8-12 FA pitchers they could realistically be in on. All of the FA position players have major flaws. While a Chisholm here or Seiya Suzuki or Alec Bohm or whoever would be nice...not counting on it. Sato is also out of their realistic range. Betting over under, would put 2027 payroll around $125-130 million when all is said and done unless there really is an immediate floor instituted...don't think there's enough of a talent out there to manage that (getting every MLB team to let's call it $145 million) before the end of 2028-2029.
  14. Point is tho, I’m cool with Ron making this thread. Anyone else complaining I say eat s%*#. This board was terrified of trading anyone and just wanted to see how the year went. This was what you wanted. Remember - Cleveland gets free goodies every year because they are small market.
  15. Yes, let's fire the general manager that is responsible for one of the most historic turnarounds in baseball history.
  16. Also playing in right center field didn’t help.
  17. Heat will be even more on Castillo? To retire or face constant booing? Just not getting how 2027...when/if it happens, would be considered more pressure? Could just as easily end up being totally written off like Moncada's final Sox season.
  18. I presume he misjudged how hard it was hit and thus took a real bad angle/route…off the bat I thought it was a routine out. In fairness I thought that quite a bit on some of the hits Taylor gave up.
  19. They love Adell there and he’s a perfect fit. He’s going nowhere
  20. If you add Grichuk the net difference is closer to +1 bWAR to Cleveland now whether they will pay Adell +/-$9.6 million next year is another story Bailey will be there for sure
  21. Sox were also relying on McDougal to be a power arm down the stretch in the bullpen. Another development fail as his command is so bad.
  22. Castillo is a failed acquisition. But gaining a dude at the deadline was clearly not a full throated effort by design. Lets see what happens next year when the heat is actually on him.
  23. He’s hitless against RHP in the playoffs. Has anyone gone back and watched his route on that double? It was so bad.
