  1. Past hour

  2. Makes so much sense for them, this is their chance to really go for it this year, and they have a ton of prospect capital to get it done without killing the system.

He has such a powerful compact swing. Bat is off his shoulder and through the zone effortlessly. It's so impressive he's doing this to AA pitching at 20 years old.
  4. Pereira is due. Acuña's batting .357 and OPSing .750 in the month of July. Grichuk could use a couple of bloops to get going again.
  5. For sure, it’s a good team getting much better but it’s not because they simply buy everyone
  6. It's the more fun alternative to him ending up a Dodger
  7. We're still trying to trade that guy that put up 5 WAR and 12 OAA in his first 162 games at the toughest position in the sport? 🙄
  8. Can't wait for our ultimate lefty line up with the likes of the ice cold Grichuk & Periera as well as Acuna
  9. I’ll be there with my son. We’ll do our best to bring home the split.
  10. Quero's heroics last night aside, the Sox probably really need to grab a catcher. Stephenson seems to be one we'd like to see the Sox target, and he would immediately become the starting catcher, with Romo most likely to be sent packing. A few other names I saw who could be traded were Goodman, Hicks, Heim, Pages, and Herrera. Goodman and Hicks seem like they'd be pricey but have pretty big upsides. The others are likely upgrades over Romo. Pitching has to be the number one priority, but catcher is probably a close second.
  11. I really see a lot of the same strut from Burke that I saw from Jon Garland when he finally realized his potential. Love to see that confidence
  12. Today

  13. Apparently Brewers are in on Skubal. That would be a wicked top two in the rotation
  14. Burke’s last 12 starts: 70 IP (5.8/GS) | 11.44 K/9 | 3.09 BB/9 | 1.03 HR/9 | 2.57 ERA | 2.92 xERA | 3.30 FIP Burke’s last 7 starts: 45IP (6.4/GS) | 11.49 K/9 | 1.41 BB/9 | 0.81 HR/9 | 1.61 ERA | 2.54 xERA | 2.39 FIP Kid has been a long run dating back to mid May, but he’s really stepped it up as of late. This includes a dominant start against the Yankees on Jun 18th. Let’s hope he keeps it up and helps us get the split today.
  15. If it isn’t increasing regardless, you aren’t trying hard enough.
  16. I'd do sick, disgusting, unforgivable things for a win today and a big trade. Even just a rumor...a little taste is all I need.
  17. I may have to get back on Twitter/X for the weekend and/or turn off my wifi on my phone so I can access Soxtalk (still only works on cellular data). My normal weekend beer consumption may increase, for one reason or another.
  18. I believe he’s scheduled to make his first start back on Sunday if not traded beforehand.
  19. My issue with the Sox and their approach to trades or free agency is they waste money and assets to get marginally better. If you're going to trade just a few chips to pick up like 3 more games and maybe be marginally more competitive in round 1 don't bother. Save the money and chips for the off-season and go all in (or wait to do it the following year or that when you feel the time is right). That's one thing Preller seems to understand, if you're gonna swing, swing for the fences otherwise you're just showing enough effort to justify keeping your job but you don't have a viable strategy for legitimately winning it all and at the end that's all that matters.
  20. .....and we have a bidet in the clubhouse now!
  21. Being a selling team especially lately is just more depression mode for me. I love this game and team and when your selling you know it's just going to be a real slow slow end to the season. Plus you know the games for the rest of the season mean very little except for a handful of players development. Just doesn't make for a fun deadline when that happens.
  22. After the SFG/Boston starting failure, doubt he would agree after finding a more comfortable role in the pen again.
