Essentially picks 3/4/6/11 were all made possible by the Gonzalez trade...and the Thome family's generational wealth. Yea, I agree, but "stay thirsty my friend." 🍺 Unfortunately, the White Sox rotation may not be capable of putting together multiple win streaks in order to separate the White Sox from the top teams in the Division. Case in point is the Red Sox right now which includes when they swept us. Need five strong starters including maybe two Ace pitchers. Even with almost unlimited financial resources and trade capital, that would be a tall task. Makes me appreciate the White Sox 2005 World Series championship even more.

It is hard to look at the baseball draft by individual picks. Because of the large variance in signing bonuses versus a picks slot value, the draft is a bit of a puzzle with all the picks being pieces of the puzzle. High school players have more leverage with the ability to go to college. NIL now gives all players a bit more leverage unless you have exhausted your eligibility. The 11th round pick may have had an asking price some teams couldn’t maneuver their pool to reach or after having a night to think about it, he lowered his number. If there was more question about his signing it would potentially push him out of the top ten rounds since you lose that money from your pool if they don’t sign. The Sox didn’t have to count his first 150 k against their pool as a pick after round ten. They spent within 50k of max before draft pick penalties so they couldn’t have gotten to his bonus if he was taken earlier. Because of all the dealing, some people look/rank a class by bonuses. Prosek would then be our second pick. Ranking by paid bonus sometimes gets a class list closer to their perceived talent.

Murakami does not look like he is running at 100% and it appears that his timing might be a little off at the plate. Same with Teel. It could be a few more weeks before these players are at 100%. Teel has been Ked on outside pitches too often. It could be that he has been too aggressive/impatient and/or pull happy. No worries though, it will all come together soon.
