Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
Fair enough. But a certain someone's husband mysteriously spent 6-8 years in the political capital of China, aka Beijing. Also HQ for the Chinese version of the CIA just down the street from Tiananmen Square. Who is HIS leader, lol?

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Wow...interesting! But also exhausting...get it done one way or the other! (personally much prefer it be in IL)

Schriffen: "It's been an amazing three years". Implies that them calling Sox games together is over. Could Stone be on his way out?
You have about three choices here. Pay the person you pick enough to where they have no desire to work other jobs. Share the person with other jobs Pick someone crappy enough they have no other jobs.

It means the city, this is the first two lines of the article

I don't have a subscription...does Chicago mean the city? Or is he lumping AH with Chicago?

So did Sheets in SD. Burger has basically been about the same. Romy Gonzalez before he got hurt in Boston. Alex Call has gone on to have a solid/workman-like career. McCarthy has had 2 of 3 really good seasons...Mena and Dominic Fletcher haven't been heard from since. Was that Barfield or Getz though? Bigger/long term picture, Marcus Semien and Tatis went on to become MVP candidates with other teams. Otoh Vargas is the closest since Quentin in 2008 to doing the same (MVP candidate) from outside the organization. Turned out not to be sustainable due to injuries and just being too hard on himself...didn't have e the same psychological coping mechanisms as Konerko.- What's next?...
Interesting, it seems like AJ is alluding to it being a phantom IL stint. If he was actually hurt and can put up more starts like the Cincy game it might not be the end of the world to have him around 1 more year.- What's next?...
His style does work better for basketball and football. Still working on spinning those baseball stories into a broadcast like a Scully, Harwell or Eucker, rather than trying to entertain and be a comedian with his 80s and 80s jokes and array of cultural references.- What's next?...
"One message I thought was really well received on my end: A lot of people that followed the White Sox or tracked the White Sox, they really felt there was a team within our clubhouse; how they went about their business, how they played for each other. It was really giving us credit for helping the game, helping the game of baseball and the industry," he said. How do you sustain or replicate that from one year to the next?- The Official Scoreboard watching thread

Why are they playing an ALCS game at 1 PM local time on a weekday?- Schriffen: "It's been an amazing three years". Implies that them calling Sox games together is over. Could Stone be on his way out?
Randazzo is already calling Bulls preseason games. If he indeed lives in Chicago (despite calling Nagels games), I'd be surprised if it isn't him. Apparently Jerry didn't like how Benetti had other sporting events he had to broadcast, though. If that's true then maybe he doesn't like Randazzo doing Apple TV Friday's.Today

Some announcers have contracts that allow them to take days off to do network gigs, but the team also gets a certain number of days where they can override that - opening day, potential clinchers, etc. - when they want their number one announcer on the local broadcast. Wonder if John's contract didn't have that clause, or the team decided they were just as happy to have McKnight call a game that would have a bigger-than-usual audience. If the latter, that's telling, as was John's decision to call a UFC event in the first place.- What's next?...
Chris Getz lauds White Sox for 2026 successes before sett...Given that his team squandered a 2-0 lead in the ALDS to the Cleveland Guardians, Chris Getz couldn’t exactly take a victory lap in his year-end media session with reporters on Wednesday, but although- Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
And Vaughn is doing better with a new organization- Fire Derek Shomon
Don't intend to stir the pot here, but I think I might've missed something. Did Tommy get a little riled up during a post-game news conference, or what exactly happened?- The Official Scoreboard watching thread
I mean the sentiment is fair. A $1000 ticket in NYC probably doesn't go for $100 in Tampa- Fall/Winter Ball 2026
Right. And as of right now, Vargas is my 1B after next year, barring a Mune extension. Heck, they can even split 1B/DH duties if he is extended since Benintendi will be gone.- The Official Scoreboard watching thread
I don't know. At any rate, someone was charging that much for tickets at a place that has had a history of not selling out in the playoffs.- Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
Yeah, ideally I'd want both- Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
Beckham was out of the org by the time Getz got here. Fulmer was pitching in the bigs before Getz's time. Colas was acquired after Getz's time as director of development. So, no. I don't believe he had anything to do with rushing those guys. It's kind of known that the White Sox would draft college players who were mostly "developed" in college and could shoot through the system. No, I don't think the director of development was making the decision to promote players prematurely, and then to allow them to languish in the bigs without proper support. The main evidence we have that Getz wanted to do things differently is that once he became GM, he started making wholesale changes to development that resulted in tangible success. I can't see how the way Bill Veeck handled a prospect's timeline in the 1970s has any bearing on how the organization is run today.- The Official Scoreboard watching thread
