If that release him he sucks worked every time somebody on this board said somebody sucked or was a bust I could name another 3 guys who'd be off this roster and guess that someone at some point said another 5 sucked and it would mostly be from the starting pitching staff and our best hitter and our SS with 28 bombs. Castillo will either prove you right or wrong but it won't because of his 1st 5 starts. There's a middle ground between sucking and his 1 great start that proved he still has what it takes. He just needs the time to find to eat his salary It makes no financial sense to dump a guy without ever seeing if he could turn it around . That's what's dumb.

I can't remember a Sox team with the positional versatility of this team, or so few base cloggers that takes 3 hits to score them from 1st. Last night's outfield Sam, Peters, Montgomery, then late inning defensive moves Peters, Doyle, Montgomery. That is one of the better defensive outfields I have seen the White Sox ever put out while I have been watching.

If Walker McKinven had to take a couple of days off I would suggest to Venable to ask Pope Leo to sit in and take over as the bench coach.

Watched some videos of Castillo from 2020. He’s really changed his mechanics. To me, he seems to be throwing too much drifting to the third base side. At times, he looks like a side armer. It’s crazy how much his tenure reminds me of Shields so far

Murakami has become really solid with the glove. I know some people think his future with the team is at DH but he has such a a high IQ defensively. Don't think we should move him from 1B. I also think Vargas is a good enough athlete to eventually figure 3B out.

We don't really have anyone else. Just hope he figures his s%*# out. I'm way more comfortable going to him then a rookie.

Couple of random questions: How are the two pitchers the Sox selected in the Rule 5 draft that were sent back to Boston and Tampa fairing this year? Seems like Getz is still owed some PTBNL from other teams in pending transactions. Any update?

Let’s not jinx this year!! It is late August and Sox are in first place and winning games against the AL Central!! These future lineup discussion are good problems to have. We have never had these issues!!

One great thing is the positional versatility these guys have. Such a big defensive difference in moving a SS or a CF around compared to parking first basemen in the outfield. Venable has really taken advantage of this versatility. In the latest owners CBA proposal, having 14 pitchers was offered. The above lineup could work with a 3 man bench. Mune is going to be interesting. How he finishes this year will really matter because if this is the lineup you see going forward what do you pay for a DH? Colson's defensive home may depend on his back. If Mune leaves and Colson's bat remains the same I could see some issues but there is a decent wave of prospects 2-4 years out.

I don't see how they can start Castillo next week. We got away with it last night cuz we scored 4 before he took the mound, and the bullpen was great. Meanwhile, Boston Smith has over 30 homers so far.

I’m not paying this guy mostly just to be a DH, just to find a place to stick Vargas. Everyone trying to stuff 10 pounds of s%*# into a 5 pound bag should stop. Some hard decisions have to be made, and then executed.

Just thinking, what odds could you have gotten if I told you the Sox rotation at the end of Aug was Shane Smith, Davis Martin, Drew Thorpe, Noah Schultz, and David Sandlin but that it was for AAA?
