  1. Past hour

  2. I'd go with Bergolla over Acuna, as the utility infielder. Better hitter.
  3. That's pretty much what I'm thinking. Plus I went back and read an article when he was traded and it was clear the Bears were trying to find a good spot for him. The Chargers were looking good back then. No ill will from what I read.
  4. Today

  5. TJ Maxx/Marshall's
  6. No more Dollar Store shopping, it's on to Kohl's, target, and JC Penney. :)
  7. He likely is expendable, but I don't consider Murray's value superior to Acuna. Acuna has value as a pinch runner and is the best SS on the roster next to Monty. The Sox likely will be adding Bergolla to the 40-Man (assuming he isn't traded). I don't see Murray really sticking around or having a place if you have guys like Baldwin and Bergolla entering the mix.
  8. The draft hasn’t been their problem, I agree. The biggest problem holding the Sox back from being the Brewers is their international operation and rudderless it is. Once they get that off the ground and get their pitching development back on track, they could be on track to be like the brewers
  9. Mack will want to go to Bears…4th is too much…let’s see Chargers do solid and move him to Bears for a 6th. On Simmons…was it expensive yes…is he a beast…yes. Elite difference maker on cap friendly deal in his prime (would love if he was 2 years younger but he is literally an all pro machine). This guy fills a huge area of weakness and makes every other guy on the line better - from Sweat to Booker to Jarrett to Turner etc. So fired up!!! I didn’t want some mediocre deal I wanted a legit deal for a true difference maker. I like Simmons more than Crosby. Love the move! Let’s go Bears!!! Let the 2 picks be 32nd overall!
  10. You know when I was 11 - White Sox had a good team and then went on strike and we came back and added Albert Belle. It didn’t work as designed but was great idea. My son is now 11 and Sox have a good team and baseball is at risk…can history repeat itself and we see them come out of the labor dispute with a Tarik Skubal or some other uncharacteristic splash move…this time with a better long term outcome!
  11. Good resume coming from good organization. Can’t complain.
  12. Another road loss because these stiffs simply can't score goals.
  13. Not another KC hire win/win
  14. You may quibble with his defense, but Baldwin most assuredly can play both ss and cf. He was bad in the corners for the most part, but playable in cf. I believe Acuna is expendable because I would rather have Tanner Murray.
  15. Yea cautious optimism. Hopefully it means we are expanding our overall scouting resources. IMO the draft was never really our problem, maybe it was for a period, but we've had other issues and in general our drafts are fine and certainly played a role in the positive 2026 season. Shirley had to go, but he seemed better than most at his job himself.
  16. He's 35 and on an 0-6 team going no where fast. He's playing about 45 snaps per game right now with the Chargers, but my guess is he'd be fine coming back to Chicago and playing in a rotation.
  17. The Brewers also face a decision on first baseman Andrew Vaughn. Swartz projects an $8.5MM salary for Vaughn, who was a part-time player in 2026 and posted a .306/.390/.444 in 331 trips to the plate. He saw regular action against lefties and pummeled them at a .336/.421/.517 clip while posting closer to average offense versus righties. The Brewers typically don’t spend much money at first base. Vaughn could reasonably be pressed into an everyday role, but Milwaukee could consider a trade or even a non-tender, thereby reallocating those dollars while pursuing a more affordable option at first. mlbtraderumors.com
  18. Four factoids today: October 30, 1959 - He was acquired before the start of the 1958 season and part of the cost was trading the popular “Minnie” Minoso. Pitcher Early Wynn didn’t start out on the right side of things with a lot of Sox fans. Compounding the issue was a mediocre season. In 1959 however Wynn turned back the clock leading the Major Leagues with 22 wins and he had an ERA of 3.17. That won him the Cy Young Award. He got 13 of the 16 votes. This was a time when only one award was given to the best pitcher in baseball as opposed to now when the award is given to a pitcher from each league. Sam Jones of the Giants got two votes with Bob Shaw of the White Sox getting the final one. Wynn also led the league in starts, innings pitched and batters faced. October 30, 1967 - The White Sox announced that nine regular season games in 1968 would be moved from Comiskey Park to County Stadium in Milwaukee. In nine dates in Milwaukee, the White Sox drew 265,552 fans, averaging 29,506. Meanwhile, attendance was just 538,203 in 72 games at Comiskey Park averaging 7,475. In 1969, the second and last year of the experiment, the White Sox drew 196,784 over 11 dates at County Stadium, averaging 17,889. At Comiskey Park in 70 games, the White Sox averaged just 5,611. A franchise hadn’t played home games outside of its home park in the American League since 1905. What was suspected at the time of the experiment, and later shown to be true, was that Sox owner Art Allyn was testing the Milwaukee market speaking frequently with Allen “Bud” Selig who was attempting to get another Major League franchise to relocate to Milwaukee which lost the Braves after the 1965 season. Selig thought he was close to getting the White Sox after getting a handshake to move but Art Allyn decided to sell the club in September 1969 to his brother John thwarting Selig’s efforts and John kept the team in Chicago. October 30, 1990 – White Sox manager Jeff Torborg was named the Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America after guiding the team to a record of 94-68. The Sox shocked the baseball world after being picked to finish no higher than fourth place. Instead, they challenged the eventual A.L. champion Oakland A’s right into September and were the only club in the league to have won the season series from them. Only the A’s and the Pittsburgh Pirates had better records during the season than the White Sox. Torborg got 23 of 28 first place votes for 128 points. The A’s Tony LaRussa, the former Sox skipper, picked up the other four first place votes and finished up with 72 points. Joe Morgan of the Red Sox got the final first place vote finishing third with 28 points. Jeff was the only manager to be named on every ballot. October 30, 2005 – Literally days after the White Sox won their first World Series since 1917, Al Lopez, arguably the greatest manager in team history died at the age of 97. Lopez took over for Marty Marion before the start of the 1957 season and through 1965 led the club to nine straight winning seasons, five of them with 90+ victories and the 1959 American League pennant. He returned to the team in the managers capacity for parts of the 1968 and 1969 years. Lopez was a fundamentalist and as a former All-Star catcher knew the game. He worked through his assistant coaches as a game progressed but wasn’t shy about calling players out if he felt they weren’t giving a best effort or were constantly doing something wrong. Among Sox players who felt his wrath at times were All-Stars Nellie Fox and Jim Landis. But under Lopez the team got results and because he got along well with the media, positive publicity even at times when things weren’t going as well as could be on the field. Lopez, “The Senor” won 840 games with the Sox and had a winning percentage of .564.
  19. That's a very short list this off season. 20. I was excited to see Baldwin develop this year before his injury. I thought he really had a chance to do well.
  21. Dustin May already opted out of his mutual option with Brewers. Wouldn't be surprised to see Sox connected at all. In theory will be in that $15-20 / year price range for 2-3 seasons, probably two with an option year based on incentives being met. "Dustin May declined his end of a $20MM mutual option with the Brewers, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. He’ll collect a $500K buyout and return to the open market. This was a formality, as mutual options are essentially never triggered by both sides. (Milwaukee would likely have passed on their end of the $20MM provision as well.) May signed a one-year, $12.5MM free agent deal with the Cardinals last winter. St. Louis flipped him to the Brewers alongside reliever JoJo Romero, netting a pair of high-upside outfield prospects for the impending free agents."
  22. Barely OPSed 700. Probably the wise choice not to lose that guaranteed $$$.
  23. They didn't protect Acuna the entire season just to cut him loose now. That said, Baldwin does a lot of the same things, except play SS and CF.
  24. They left on the same plane in adjacent seats and you know Pham was shoving Schriffdawg’s arm off the armrest.

  26. Here's a big question with Mack. Would you limit him to 25 to 30 snaps, primarily in passing situations, and would he accept that role? As the finishing touch and if he was fresh come January -- wow
  27. Got to imagine Leasure gets released. Berroa is a mystery at this point. Junior Perez, Nishida, Acuna, and Ky Bush also seem like fairly easy cuts to me. Gonna be interesting to see if they even need to protect anyone though
