  1. Past hour
  2. Have you seen to SF or SD? I've been to 12 of the current ballparks and I'd rank Petco Park as #1 and Oracle Park as #2. I've never been to Baltimore, Pittsburgh, or Atlanta but would certainly like to go someday.
  3. I like that the Sox presently have a good mixture of drafting, developing, and scouting other teams cast offs. Peters, Grichuk, Periara, Perez, Rock, S Smith, and Romo come to mind. I am a prospect hugger, but I know the smart play is keep drafting and developing at a high level and move some prospects for established players.
  4. I mean in terms of quality relievers. Things get dicey real fast after Taylor, Hudson, & Newcomb.
  5. I’ll never complain about the area around Rate Field ever again. What a crap hole!
  6. He’s another guy that would be interesting if the price were reasonable
  7. I would not say we have “so little pitching”, but rather that we have a lot of “uncertainty with our pitching”. Martin, Burke, & Schultz (if healthy) look like 3/5 of a major league rotation. There are a lot of internal options for the other two spots in Sandlin, McDougal, Hagen Smith, Shane Smith, Adams, Thorpe, & Bush. No doubt we should probably add a TOR starter, but ideally that can be done in free agency. If not, we may need to trade for one, but I’d rather make that decision in the off-season or next year’s deadline than do so right now.
  8. I don't think the Jays are quite out of it yet. They're only 2.5 games out of a wild card spot.
  9. I just think teams will ask for him.
  10. Where are you located? Maybe draft bets aren't allowed? I couldn't bet on the NFL draft in Pittsburgh this year
  11. I'm oddly confident in Burke right now. He's seen a stuff uptick. If he can control his walks tonight he'll put up some good innings.
  12. Time for everyone to slump bust, whatever way possible
  13. Nice. Some family of mine just went to Pittsburgh for a couple of games and hearing about it made me really want to go. Really want to take in all of the north eastern parks. There’s so many in that little pocket there.
  14. Surprised that Beni isn’t getting a start when he’s had some success against Baz. Same with Acuna.
  15. Today
  16. yeah Camden is a real nice park, went there circa 95/96 and it was super hot, saw Frank launch a few out to right field during BP.
  17. Taking a HS player with Lackey and Roch on the board based on a "timeline" would be the dumbest possible decision and one that could set the franchise back 5-6 WAR a season. Emerson is in no way a lock to be a star, in fact of the three at the top he's probably 2x more likely to bust as a HS kid with a long development path ahead. You don't take a HS kid here unless he's like Bryce Harper. He ain't that.
  18. To me, Bonemer is an untouchable. Carlson, Fauske, & Gonzalez are in the next tier where I’m only moving them for a controllable SP and if they are essentially the centerpiece. Hagen, McDougal, & Sandlin would also be in this tier and the same rules would apply. I would not package two of those guys together either. As such, we’d be a long shot for a controllable SP and that’s ok in my book. Almost anyone would theoretically be available, although there are guys I’d try like hell to avoid trading, such as Oppor, Larson, & Wolkow. Again, this will limit what we can do at the deadline, but I think we can still address the rotation & bullpen using our lessor prospects and financial means. And beyond it being year one of our controllable window, I also don’t think it makes sense to pay a premium for a controllable SP ahead of a lockout. Feels like there is risk that part of the control you’d be paying up for could get washed away in a work stoppage. As such, I’d rather keep my best trade chips for the offseason and once things have settled.
  19. We’re in town for this one! Our summer trip this year was NYC/Philly/DC and we’re finishing up tonight/tomorrow in Baltimore. My son is undefeated in his Sox game career (4-0) and we’re looking to push it to 5-0 tonight! Sitting in left field, hoping to snag a bomb off the bat of Miguel.
  20. Camden was real nice. Went there in 1995 and saw Griffey hit a HR. Went to a Mariners game last year. Was a bit disappointed in that park. The gate we came in went through the team store and was kind of a cluster of a setup. Was nice that we were able to street park a few blocks from the stadium and get on our way almost immediately though.
  21. Atlanta and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is probably the coolest park but I put it number two because the team always sucks. It seemed like some of the people bought a ticket just to hang out in the outfield and gaze at the river rather than the game haha. Atlanta has an awesome parking setup and just great atmosphere. Best hot dog I've had at the ballpark too. Might be a little bias because Atlanta murdered the cubs when I went and Madrigal struck out a few times so it was extra fun haha
  22. I was shocked that Ken Griffey Jr. is still the only guy to hit a homer off the B&O wall in right. And that was during the homerun derby. I couldn't believe that when I was there because that wall looks so close but I just looked it up and it's 440 feet so yeah, quite the illusion haha
  23. Grichuk gets a DH day against a RHP, Chase a little lower in the order
  24. I was at Camden in 1993, during the All-Star Break....didn't go to any of the game stuff but walked down Eutaw and passed Frank Robinson. I'm old.
  25. My guess is Getz will trade for bullpen arms and keep running the young guys out there. Assuming we make the playoffs, it's typically a bullpen battle.
