2 hours later would be ideal so I don't have to try and get off work early and have time to eat dinner and settle in for the game. Any playoff game not being at evening/night is frankly stupid. Networks not wanting to show concurrent games is just bad for the fans. Yeah they will get more people who want to watch every playoff game, but actually lose some fans during the day games because they couldn't get off work or what have you. Also they should be catering to the fans of the team itself and not these people who watch every baseball game. I'm sure there's orders of magnitude less of those people then there are people who watch every football game.

There's also Tristan Peters putting up a .271 OPS in the 15 games after the All-Star game that made Getz look for a Plan B in CF. The whole team actually turned into a pumpkin in early June, which probably made the FO a bit more risk averse when it came to supplementing this team at the expense of the farm.

Also I do not give a s%*# how advanced stats say Doyle is doing. We're in "ride the performance aberration" territory now. I'll worry about those advanced stats next year and see if his approach changes bear fruit.

Yeah they needed Colson and Mune to hit with that crappy pitching. Not sure there was anyone worth prioritizing at the deadline except Mahle who the Braves had an inside track on. Definitely shouldn't have picked up Castillo. Also with how Martin and Burke fell apart not sure they could've gotten enough help to make much of a difference. Bullpen was going to be stretched no matter what.

Since the deadline the Sox are 4th in position player WAR and 5th in wRC+ in all of baseball. Meanwhile they're 22nd and 20th in pitching WAR and ERA. They blew it because the Sox acquired no real starters at the deadline when it was a desperate need.

There are many reasons we are playing in a wildcard series. The main reason is Mune and Colson falling off a cliff.

At least we avoided Mason Adams pitching a meaningful G162 against the Sox by one start and an early clinching. So there's that. And there's no doubt he has been better recently...regardless of the statistical measure. GEtz would simply argue he was merely meant to take some tough at bats against lefties away from Peters and provide him more rest down the stretch.
