And that is a better then .500 road trip White Sox winner!
CityFan Jr. and I will be in the house Wednesday night! Great split. I was very frustrated Thursday and Friday with those outcomes, but man this team just picks themselves up and digs deep when they need to. The entire series was a +1 RDIFF for the Sox. Just very competitive. Sometimes I think myself (and a lot of us) live and die with every game almost with a CFB and NFL mentality. 12 or 17 games makes every game a must win…and baseball is different, even playing against a division rival with whom you’re battling for the top of the division. We’ve gone from a win being nice to a win being the expectation and that shifts the mindset of fans. Let’s go 4-2 minimum this week and into the break on a huge positive note!

2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
Might be cope, but I feel the less we hear a player connected to the Sox the better. Thus Lackey is the pick. 🙂

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Why in the world would Chuck tweet that a week before the Sox pick #1

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Yeah, this is literally a once in a generation opportunity. It sounds like a very good draft year with 3 guys in the running for a solid 1.1 pick. All things being equal, I'd rather not use the pick for a HS player unless he's a Bryce Harper/B Witt Jr-level generational talent. I don't know who I want them to pick, I just hope they totally nail this pick. Totally whiffing on #3 and #4 overall in recent years really stings....and perhaps whiffing with taking Smith #5 overall over some players already finding success. But we can't flop with the #1 overall pick. Also, the rest of the draft is a great opportunity for the Sox and this is a good chance to have some success beyond the 1:1. I'm eager to see who they select after the 1st round.

Friday Night is already sold out. It's Mexican Heritage Night which is always a crazy fun night at the park.

Is soccer replacing all the US major sports (except NFL) in popularity?)
But does he NOW know how to speak to women without losing his temper?

Is soccer replacing all the US major sports (except NFL) in popularity?)
Numbers aren't out yet. "Tuesday’s Mexico-Ecuador FIFA World Cup knockout stage match averaged 18.9 million viewers on Telemundo and Peacock, a match window figure that combines Nielsen-measured linear viewership with a streaming audience tracked by Adobe Analytics — the largest audience for a World Cup match on Spanish-language television. The previous high was 14.0 million for Mexico’s group stage match against South Korea. In what would appear to be a first, the streaming audience tracked by Adobe Analytics (9.7M) exceeded the linear audience measured by Nielsen (8.7M). Both figures were records, with the streaming audience the largest for a soccer match on a Spanish-language outlet and the linear audience the largest in the history of Telemundo. The Adobe Analytics-measured streaming audience has been accounting for a greater percentage of the combined audience. During the group stage, the streaming audience made up 44% of the audience, up from 28% in the 2022 group stage, but the Nielsen linear audience still generated the majority of viewing." 2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
I think anything people are hearing right now is purposeful misdirection leaked by front offices in hopes of keeping prices down on guys they like. Roch could be a “distant third” but zero reason for Sox front office members to share that info with the likes of Keith Law, Jim Callis, etc. if true. This is no different than how we should all process leaks at the trade deadline or offseason.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
The Padres season is going down the tubes. I wonder if they would trade Mason Miller if they acquired a package of young players.

Investing for Beginners
stumbled across this post. I hope you are doing well and got started. Some good points were expressed. I am not a financial pro by any means. As a older dude, here are some points and reiterations: 1) Get started. If you have an option through work (401k etc) that has a match get all of the match. That 2 or 4 percent doesn't sound like a lot but on your contribution that is an immediate 100% return. 2) Eliminate credit card debt. Interest rates are often 25% range which is crazy. Pay them off every month. If you have cc debt cut your spending. No eating out or fast food, trips, etc 3) Get started if this is money for retirement or that you don't need for 5-10 years. At the begining there is a lot of apprehension and thoughts of not knowing enough. Vanguard was mentioned. They are an investor owned low cost broker (good for low cost and fees). Index 500 mentioned which is the 500 largest companies in the market. You are buying a little bit of them which provides some diversification. (diversified spreads risk). If all 500 bust, we have bigger problems lol. A reassuring phrase I learned was "it is time in the market not timing the market". No one can predict the highs and lows to the day/hour but over time you will be a lot better off than doing nothing. Check the link. The person who invested on the worst possible day every year did just fine over time. https://www.schwab.com/learn/story/does-market-timing-work 4). Continue to educate yourself. No one will care about your money more than you. There is nothing wrong with steady consistent returns. People often brag about their investments that did great. Those same people don't tend to tell others when they lost their ass. Mutual funds/ETFs are a great way to get going and be diversified. For most people they are all they will need . If you do not work in the field remember it is unlikely in whatever time you spend on investing that it will make you better than professionals. If you are that great in 15 minutes a day you are in the wrong profession but it doesn't hurt to understand how your money is invested. I have done my own accounts but researched the fund managers and tried to understand the concepts behind what they did. Good luck and hang in there.

White Sox sign RHP Seranthony Domínguez, 2/20M
Yeah, he can't give him credit. Against his whole brand.

Think the ASB will do these guys real good.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
I too am relatively uninformed. Much of what I know about the top guys I read here. I still think the Sox will take Roch and deal with the logjam in the middle infield when the time comes. It's a good problem to have, and if they're serious about contending, they could deal one of the MI guys for a controllable pitcher. HS picks at number one make me nervous. Granted I don't know much about Emerson, but I feel picking him has more bust potential.

Not a well-played game at all, but we'll take the win. The announcers (including Steve Stone doing a national game) were talking about the pitchers being affected by the delay, fake start time, and second delay, but it seemed like the defenders were affected more. Sloppy play, brain farts, etc. But, these are the type of games they need to win. And they did. When I saw Hicks warming up, I was like "oh s%*#." Luckily they kept Newcomb in, and he threw like 8 pitches and shut the door.

Woah. New Keith Law mock. Emerson at the top, but also the first time we are hearing that the front office likes Lackey? I have hope! Says the front office has Roch 3rd on their list. Sharing the top 10 picks. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7424299/2026/07/06/mlb-draft-mock-2026-grady-emerson-vahn-lackey/

White Sox sign RHP Seranthony Domínguez, 2/20M
They just told you, he is represented by Epitome Sports Management. He is represented by the agency, not specific to someone like Boras

What were the ratings for England at Mexico? That was a big time match.

I vote Roch . I am totally uninformed so will trust Sox scouts whichever direction they go. I hope they load up on pitching after round one.

And that is a better then .500 road trip White Sox winner!
The week ahead has the hot( 8 wins in last ten) Red Sox and the cool (3-7 in last 10) A's coming to Sox park. Right now Sox will face 4 lefty starters ,one righty, one tba this week. Would be nice if Sox could get their right handed outfielder( Pereira) back. Big week for Grichuk and Acuna. Red Sox are bad at home but 23-21 on road. Meanwhile, guardians go to twins so someone( hopefully guards) is going to lose ground. Finish 1st half strong,Sox!

Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.
I would say that the 2026 season will be career changing for Vargas in many ways. He does have a unique family situation with his parents taking him at age 15 and defecting Cuba to USA (Miami). I don't assume he will stay in Chicago in F/A if Miami comes a knocking. I doubt he will find a better group of guys or coaches than the WS.
