Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
Stephen Kolek just went on the paternity list (congrats to him), so he won't start tonight. Steven Cruz will open instead. Big 6'7" RHP with a 6+ ERA on the season, but a solid 3 ERA this month. 1-2 inning guy. Kolek's replacement on the roster is RHP Mitch Spence, so he might be the bulk guy tonight? He's made two 4 inning appearances in MLB this season, and given up 6 ER in both (NYY and WSH, so two good offenses). 6+ ERA in 48.2 innings at AAA. Would behoove the Sox to put up a couple crooked numbers on these guys and tax the KC pen for the series. BWJ is playing, but at DH. Probably won't run as much if the knee isn't 100% yet.

2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
I still don't think either player gets $10 million but let's say Cholowsky is $10 million, Emerson would be $9.75 million and Lackey is still probably breaking the record too. I just don't see much cost savings on anyone so I'd take Cholowsky.

A few things: I really want the Sox to sweep KC. We owe so badly after they have embarrassed the Sox so badly the last two years. I think Sandlin will do fine tonight, especially if Witt is out tonight. Has Vasil put on weight, significant weight? Look at his face in that picture and when you see him in the dugout, he looks heavy. I don’t remember at all thinking he was “larger” like that when he was pitching last year.

The Royals were two outs away from being no hit yesterday before Craig Kimbrel came in for the Rays and allowed a walk and HR. Not sure if that leaves them more motivated or demoralized for this series, but I guess we'll find out. Witt Jr has been on the bench and in a knee brace for the past week, but the hope for KC is that he plays today. Maikel Garcia and Pasquantino are both on the IL. Old friend Josh Rojas is off to a hot start as an injury call up in a small sample size. Despite the injuries and near no-hitter, KC has a .784 OPS as a team this month. Cags and Jensen have both been on fire. KC pitching has struggled more (4.96 team ERA) so hopefully the Sox can take advantage and add to their 5-2 season series lead. Sox saw Kolek back in May and tagged him for a big 5 run inning in a 6-5 win. Meidroth and Romo hit HRs, and Ant tagged a double.- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
You know what’s strange is it seems like both him and Pat Hughes on the other side of town seem to be sick. Neither are spring chickens, I hope they are ok- Today
- Of some interest? Lukas Walton buys into the Bulls
Here's the Crain's article about this purchase of a minority stake in the Bulls. Walton family heirs buy minority stake in Bulls, United C...“We are pleased to welcome Lukas and Samantha, who share our deep-seated belief in Chicago,” Bulls President and CEO Michael Reinsdorf said today.- Of some interest? Lukas Walton buys into the Bulls
I will say one thing for the Waltons, they are not private equity.- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
Too bad it wasn’t the Skubal game that he was miced up 😆- Of some interest? Lukas Walton buys into the Bulls
Preparing myself for PE discussions- Of some interest? Lukas Walton buys into the Bulls
I know Jerry always told his family to keep the Bulls and sell the Sox - but is he doing both? Will this land us Skubal in the offseason?- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
Let's sweep these fucks! I fucking hate the royals and their fans. Went to a Sox game at Kauffman in 2023 with my husband and step daughter and got heckled the whole damn time by some frat boy douches saying we should be cubs fans since we are the right color and other bullshit like that. Then when the game was over, some 50 year old frat boy douche got right in my face and screamed White Sox suck and spit all over me. And this was a Wednesday day game in the rain haha. Not like anyone should have been that wasted. Unfortunately I was exhausted because we were driving back from our vacation so I didn't say much back. I did manage a shouldn't you be cardinals fans to the young douches and are the royals good? to the old douche. But what the f***? Does having mahomes just make that whole city insufferable or something?- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
He's old and he has had some pretty bad health scares in the past.- Crochet Trade Outcome Tracker
Now do surplus value which only help our side of the equation.- This Day In Sox History 6/25...
I don't have an answer to that other than perhaps the capacity of the park was changed between 1964 and 1973. I do know they were standing/sitting in the aisles, center field under the scoreboard was jammed and they were standing in the catwalks that connected the scoreboard area with left and right field.- Sandlin called up to start, Rock sent down to work on himself
Exactly.- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26

Is Steve Stone alive?- Crochet Trade Outcome Tracker
Update time: An Update trending in the Sox favor two times in a row. Nice! Garrett's injury seems more serious than they thought, so he's out quite a bit longer. He's at 6.1 WAR since the trade. Meidroth - 2.7 WAR Montgomery - .3 WAR Teel - 1.9 WAR Total WAR: 4.9 I still think this trade comes down to Montgomery. Teel is going to be a starting catcher in the big leagues, and probably a pretty good one. Meidroth is a utility guy in the long run. If Montgomery can be an average to + MLB outfielder, this trade works out for both teams assuming Garrett comes back healthy.- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
Few posters going to be in shambles- 2026 Bold Predictions
Checking in again one month after last! If Meidroth wasn't stealing Ant's position he'd likely be near league leading WAR for a rookie. Guy may still pull it out as he continues to get better and better! Grant still lagging behind Davis Martin quite a bit, and he hasn't been as otherworldly lately killing this one for me!! Mune injury saved him from this fate! Rather he be healthy and mashing balls and the K record! Mead has a 122 wRC+ and Vargas has a 129 wRC+. Vargas also has better expected numbers. Crazy how good Mead has looked though! Loser!- Thoughts on selling high on Meidroth?
We're trying to win games now and against tough LHP he should 100% sit for Grichuk. It's not like you're losing an elite LF glove. If we fall out of contention sure, let him get more experience. - Will Venable's Managing
