  1. Past hour
  2. If the Sox draft Roch and he doesn't turn out to be a better player, both offensively and defensively, it will be one of the worst #1 picks, in the history of the draft. That said, I personally lean toward Lackey.
  3. Ok, so I think this is a thing, but NBA roster structure confuses me to no end. Bulls signing guys like Sellers, Awaka and Atwell means they have more free roster space to use in the off-season — so they can leave space for another Claxton type deal. Taking a second rounder would have eaten up that space. That of course raises the question of Kam Jones, unless they just waive him. Also Sellers, Awaka and Atwell have odds stacked against them but god they have fun mixtapes.
  4. Meidroth will be expendable...LMFAO. You don't know if Roch can play second base like Chase does or hit major league pitching with a wood bat. He may turn out to be over-hyped like Vaughn
  5. The fact they are even putting this s%*# out in public is disgusting and designed imo to piss off the union and poison the negotiations.
  6. What is Ishbia's position on the salary cap, revenue sharing, etc?
  7. The contract limit is never going to happen. Along with a max annual salary. Just ridiculous stuff that the PA will never accept.
  8. Owners proposed a series of absurdities today. No deferred contracts, max contract length of 5 years for FA switching teams, 6 years for teams retaining their FA. Min salary of 1 million (yikes). I hate these guys so damn much.
  9. Aren't the TV and radio booths right behind home plate? I know the press box was moved to the first base side of the 400 level a number of years ago, so was your suite past the press box along the 1st base side? JR's plan to have two solid rows of luxury suites sandwiching a very small (only 5 rows deep) club level was indeed one of the things that ruined the stadium by pushing anyone who isn't in the lower deck all the way up to the 500 level. As far as I know, they have never filled all those suites, either. Plus that members-only/not-for-regular-fans Stadium Club eats up a good chunk of space down the 1st base side too. I've been to several other post-Camden ballparks and the luxury suites are blended in well throughout the park and aren't two massive blocks between the lower and upper deck. There's plenty of very good seats available for regular fans in the 200 and 300 level, including more club level seats available than at Rate Field.
  10. Pope Leo sure is amassing an awesome White Sox memorabilia collection....will there be a public viewing at the Vatican?
  11. Oh so that's why he looked so familiar
  12. Today's will be a bit brief as I don't quite have the enthusiasm for a long one after that stinker of a finish yesterday. Today's position player dive will be Tristan Peters. Background: Peters is a 26 year old from Winkler, Canada, a town of only 13K on the Manitoba prairie. 7th round pick out of Southern Illinois of all places by the Brew Crew back in 2021. He briefly was a Savanah Banana before starting his minor league career. He bounced around a bit, was part of minor trade to TB and eventually was released by TB and a trade was worked out with Chicago for our old friend CC or a PTBNL, this time going out, however. As far as I can tell, the Rays just took the CC. Statistical profile: 2.0 fWAR in 220 PA so far. xwOBA of only .302 but an actual xwOBA of .342. Is there something the predictive metrics are missing there? Maybe, as he does have elite sprint speed and will beat out more ground balls than most. He has a very good 18.2% K rate, but only a 7.3% walk rate. Looking at his batted ball profile he does appear to know where his bread is buttered as a hitter, with a 41% GB rate and a 23% line drive rate. He's not trying to hit HR, he's trying to get on base with a slap approach. 55.3% pull percentage and I'd imagine teams will look at his spray chart and start guarding the lines, which won't help his BABIP. Fielding wise obviously he's been elite outside a poorly timed dive or two. There's a MLB player here, but as with Meidroth, he doesn't look to be a starting caliber MLB player outside some stretches of good fortune at the plate. The Sox will obviously take what they can get from a player basically acquired for nothing. Put this one down as a win for Getz, but don't expect much going forward beyond a 1 or 1.5 WAR type defensive oriented CF. Unless the Sox find elite players in the corners around him, he will probably be a guy they are looking to upgrade on when they can.
  13. This is like saying, "see, 50 year old Tom Brady is no longer the greatest QB ever! I was right 20+ years ago!"
  14. Right now, it is so hard to be a good righthanded hitter in mlb. So I feel for Chase. Eventually, he may be a weak side platoon bat with Antonacci?
  15. If the Sox draft Cholowsky, he will likely be at second base by 2028. Antonacci may stay in LF. Meidroth is going to be very expendable, in fact there are already several viable candidates in the organization.
  16. Today
  17. I would expect him to be an option this season. He only had 5 (mostly rough) starts in Charlotte pre-TJ though, so I don't know when this year turns from making sure he's fully healthy/stretched out to evaluating MLB readiness. Martin didn't spend much time at AAA after his TJ, but he had 100+ MLB innings already.
  18. Lmao no man, that’s how you can tell them apart
  19. Meidroth can be The Chairman of the Bog.
  20. Hey now, he's a SoxTalk member and the most prominent White Sox Twitterer. Bite your tongue! Kenwo is the dumbest white Sox Twitter account. No question.
  21. I came up with a nickname for Ant two days ago. Backpack... because he carries the team.
  22. chissoxmike is such a b****. most of sox twitter is.
  23. Absolutely, The Chairman of the Board should be starting at 2B. I understand starting Meidroth at 2B now with our lack of outfield depth. Ideally next year Brooks Baldwin (or a better free agent) will be in LF with The Chairman at 2B.
  24. Oh really? Does that mean you have a problem with Caleb Williams painting his nails too?
  25. Who do you want starting at 2B? The Chairman of the… Oh f*** that nickname. 🤮
  26. as long as he avoids the eyeliner, he's still our AJ
  27. We need to do a deep dive and see if Peter Thiel was behind every ounce of success AJ has had.
