  1. Today

  2. Guardians really have no choice but to start G.Williams on three days' rest... Peralta already announced. That would leave Nick Martinez and Jax also in TB bullpen with one held back to start a possible G7 on Tuesday. Rough travel schedule to fly and then have two more consecutive games with the state of the CLE bullpen.
  3. Why do the Cowboys get so many nationally televised games? They suck
  4. I think he had a really good agent and his background (at the time at least) looked good on paper as a "new age" analytics background. Of course he didn't really push analytics, he just had a worthless MBA and a slick lawyer like effect to him. IIRC the rumors were that we kept him and promoted him when he had interest from other clubs, including the Red Sox. Probably all just hogwash planted by his agent in hindsight. The guy was clearly in way over his head. He was good at contracts, absolutely trash tier at everything else.
  5. ND got double hosed following missing playoffs a year ago. But 1 second left and a clear PI on the play. Was a heck of a game either way though and had Miami lost it may have been one of the craziest weekends I can remember in college football.
  6. Reality is Roschon had a nice run and they were moving it he just coughed it up. Jones had opened up a big hole along with Newman on the play where Roschon fumbled.
  7. Fantastic win - penalties have to get under control and Caleb took a few early sacks in first half where he has to get the ball out of his hands but overall that was such a clean game by Caleb and the D. They made it to worrisome in the end - the penalties and Roschons fumble were no bueno. Kyler played electric! Was great seeing the ball spread around so much and seeing Loveland early and often in this one.
  8. Larry Himes went from Sox GM to Cubs GM in the early 90s. Ron Schuler held "special assistant" jobs with several teams after he left the Sox.
  9. For the first time since 2002, Miami (FL) is ranked #1 in the polls. I dont expect us to stay there long, I'm not impressed with how we've played the last several weeks and we played poorly against a weak FSU team. I don't think we're going to win in South Bend. I wouldn't even be shocked of we lost in Chapel Hill in a couple weeks. This team is significantly weaker defensively than last season and also has been ravaged by injury in the defensive backfield.
  10. The last time the front office wanted to get out in front of a lockout, they rushed to sign Mike Clevinger.
  11. I understand that, but if they let the starters play one more drive, none of what actually transpired happens. Letting Atlanta finally breathe and get some momentum ended up making the starters play 2 more drives that actually required them to try.
  12. Pirates are getting rid of Skenes!!! Welcome to the South Side, son.
  13. He was doing it because of a short week. The Bears play on Thursday too. Do I agree with it? Not really, but I understand the logic.
  14. One factoid today: October 19, 1949 – Sox G.M. Frank Lane struck again. Lane dealt backup catcher and malcontent Joe Tipton to the Philadelphia A’s for a young, small second baseman named Jacob Nelson “Nellie” Fox. Tipton had gotten into a fistfight with Sox manager Jack Onslow during the 1949 season and wasn’t going to be kept. All Fox did was eventually get to the Hall of Fame, have his #2 retired by the team in 1976, make 12 All-Star teams, win the league’s M.V.P. award in 1959 and become one of the faces of the “Go-Go” Sox during the 1950's and early 1960's.
  15. Gotta think they'll have Peralta going tomorrow. Do the Guardians go with Williams?
  16. Yesterday

  17. Rays win game 5, back to St. Pete to try to close it out.
  18. Can't ask anything more out of Kwon in this game saved two runs by himself to make it interesting
  19. Tampa 1 win away going back home
  20. Baker gets it done again.
  21. Kwan with a great catch.
  22. Incredibly arrogant to pull your starters with 10 minutes left in a 3 score game. Maybe do it with 5 minutes left or something.
  23. His options aren't all that great.
  24. He's just going to be a TV guy I'm guessing.
  25. First time watching since last Saturday. Wells better strike this fucker out.
  26. And when TLR came along, the Sox won the division and no one wanted Hahn and Kenny anymore? Kenny's time to move was a decade earlier. I can see teams wanting Hahn perhaps when he was Kenny's assistant. But with no talent evaluation skills and with all of his trading gaffes (and he wasn't at the forefront of analytics either) it's hard to believe he was in high demand during his time as GM.
  27. Cash is riding his starters way too long
