  2. Well, I think it’s kind of wild to compare what Will did to a drunk driver not killing anyone. But, to your point I guess, it was a brain fart, at the beginning of a game, that was about to get out of hand, that ended up not getting out of hand (in that moment) probably because of that brain fart. Situationally, not a big deal. Had it been in a much more important situation, like a tie ballgame in the 8th or something, then I might agree with you a bit more. But it wasn’t, so I’m inclined to think it really wasn’t a big deal as you think it was.
  3. I think he's a guy who will be at risk of a DFA. He was so bad defensively and the offense had some problems as well, although I acknowledge the surprising pop from the left side. Like Everson, Brooks is a little harder to be patient with if you think the team is going to be good. There's some other crap on the 40-man that the Sox could clear first, of course. But we may have some new crap we want on there too.
  4. Needed fresh arms. I wonder who gets the DFA. And with Thorpe set to come off the 60-day soon, I don't have any clue how the Sox feel about him. Will he get a shot at innings in MLB, will he get optioned and lie in wait for a while, will he be DFA'd?
  5. If a dude drives home drunk but doesn’t hit anymore, did he not make a mistake? No big deal, right? Victim or not, you still made a grave mistake that was a totally uncalled for and was just sheer incompetence from a manager in the dog days of August trying to get this team going again after a very lackluster series in Boston. Taking your starter out, by mistake because you weren’t paying attention is inexcusable
  6. Today sucked but when we take a step back, the level of consistency this team has shown this year has been remarkable. We have yet to deal with the kinds of losing streaks other teams have been.
  7. That kind of thing has happened in the majors before - sometimes with a player giving another player some sort of pricey gift as opposed to some dollar amount in exchange for their preferred uniform number. With that $10M signing bonus, I'm guessing Roch was able to squeeze some sort of nice gift or payout into his budget.
  8. Hope all 4 of these guys involved ultimately have long and successful careers with this franchise.

  10. Dodgers have now lost 7 in a row Diaz walked off by AZ 5-2 Tigers down in the 8th

  12. Hagen Smith and Tanner McDougal - Cue "Experiment in Terror" -Henry Mancini... for those who recall "Creature Features" late Friday nights on WGN.
  13. Schultz and sandman Let's go win a game tomorrow
  14. One frustrating thing is that they should have had Castillo start tonight and Schultz last night. Basically punted tonight’s game against a divisional opponent.
  15. Bonemer...LOL. It is a little late to conduct that experiment.
  16. If Bonemer was more experienced I’d say bring him up too but I think it would be a major rush job and they can’t afford to ruin him.
  17. I don’t think it was a huge deal. Schultz was getting rocked anyway. Honestly that probably saved the first inning from being 6-0 instead of 2-0.
  18. They will probably be early bullpen guys and not get many stressful innings. Wish we had a couple hitters we could bring into the fold
  19. This is something I’d expect 2021 TLR to do
  20. Worried that Smith will walk too many. Hope I am wrong.
  21. Cantillo hasn't been great. I know he's a lefty but there is a huge gap between what we saw tonight and him.
  22. Pitching him today, he should be on schedule. Good for everyone involved. Fedde is much more effective as a starter then a reliever.
  23. Seems like Fedde will be back in the rotation after this.
  24. Gonna be a long weekend I’m afraid. Sox have to deal with 2nd half Gavin tomorrow, who is on a 5 game double digit K streak. Then another lefty Sunday which means Venable will trot out his God awful LHP lineup.
