  1. Past hour

  2. Also, 2 times through the lineup for a pitcher… max.
  3. Today

  4. Venable needs the juggle the lineup today, if something is broken, you fix it.
  5. Picks are eligible to be traded the day after the world series is concluded.
  6. TIME TO STOP THE FUCKING BLEEDING AND BEAT THE LIVING s%*# OUT OF THESE c***S! LET‘S GO BOYS AND GIRLS!!!! TIME TO MAN UP AND GET BACK ON THE WHOOPIN ASS TRAIN!
  7. I think it’s WAAAAAY to premature to say this. They’ve only played what… 6 games so far since the break and are .500 in them? I just checked. 8 games played. 4 wins and 4 losses. +6 run differential. Waaaaaaay too soon to call that “coming back down to earth.” They could have won two more of those games. If they had we’d be looking at a 6-2 record since the break and we‘d be up 3.5 games. Everyone’s tune would be totally different. Take a Xanax and give it some time. This is going to be a dog fight in August and I’m here for it.
  8. So you want to trade for Miller and Detmers? For who exactly? Surely you won't have to trade Bonemer nor Carlson.
  9. Here come the Panicans. Tra la la, tra la la.
  10. Is there a reason why they threw him out there in the 9th with a 6 run lead? Like it's great he got a CG and all, but 120 pitches is totally unnecessary.
  11. With this catcher disaster in our hands, maybe the Sox would have been better off drafting first the Georgia Tech catcher Lackey. We need more immediate help.
  12. If Quero would have been able to tag with two hands, he would have been able to hold on to the ball, and the runner would have been out
  13. We could have used Jacob Gonzalez nowadays.
  14. I doubt JR had ANY idea about the potential value that Tatis Jr had and certainly neither KW nor Hahn did. I was pleading to not take on Shields without even knowing about Tatis Jr.
  15. Early for Mead by definition isn't exactly rational either...not for prospect lovers.
  16. So if you can't win anything in the postseason even with Miller, King and a catcher...then just do nothing? Sounds like that equally twisted stick head in sand plan will certainly satisfy Sox fans lol. We can just be like Baltimore minus the two 0-5 playoff appearances, keep payroll in the bottom 2-3 and hoard prospects. Or we can criticize SD for swinging those big headline talent trades with nothing to show for it despite 4/6 playoff appearances and one humbling NLCS loss (50% due to Clevinger.)
  17. I hear Luis Robert is available. What?!? Too soon?
  18. Since when does JR include players in trades? He listens to the proposed trade agreements from his GM and either rejects them (mostly due to money) or approves them. In any case, JR approved the trade so he obviously had no problem taking on $27 million of Shields remaining contract and giving up Tatis Jr.
  19. You can go back a month. It was never rational. Only in your own twisted mind maybe. You didn’t predict s%*#.
  20. KW and Hahn negligently included Tatis Jr in the trade to get Shields...not JR. It was a fireable offense.
  21. Hunter Brown is a Detroit native that, like a lot of other Michiganers,/Tiger fans, grew up hating the White Sox. That may in part explain why he is something like 5-0 career against the White Sox. He looked like a man on a mission in that game...98, 97. 96 mph fastballs with movement on the corners and a sick 85 mph off-speed pitch, also thrown for a strike. He was basically unhittable. It felt like that series that Boston swept us where Payton Tolle just dominated our line-up. The only way to beat a pitcher who is throwing like that is by holding them scoreless and scratching out a run or two. And of course, not giving away runs with errors and bad defense.
  22. Tatis and Erik Johnson were included because JR wanted to pay even less of Shields' deal than Moores was willing to chip in as a subsidy. The early May 2016 "false record" that had Hahn thinking they were contenders. Liriano/Escobar was one of KW's worst. Or Todd Ritchie for Wells/Fogg/Lowe.
  23. I agree. I don't want them to buy to the extent that they're giving up high-ceiling prospects like Bonemer and Carlson. Many of the Sox players who had a great first half seem to be coming back down to earth. I don't think we're one good catcher and one starting pitcher away from being pennant winners. As much as our catchers suck, they haven't been the only problems with our offense the last few weeks. Please don't pull a Kenny Williams and trade away future All-Stars with go-for-broke trades that don't put us over the top. That doesn't mean I'm all for "prospect hugging" and never trading anyone in our top 30 for serviceable veteran players - like you said, the situation is very nuanced. It's great that we've gone from 100+ losses to first place and debating how aggressively we should be buyers. That's terrific progress in just one season, but there's still a lot of work to do. Also, if the Sox do get a pitcher and catcher and go on to win the pennant this year, people are welcome to pin this post and ask me to eat crow in October.
  24. "Mead, meanwhile, has a line of .254/.352/.500. The Nationals' new brain trust, led by former Red Sox executive Paul Toboni, acquired him from the Chicago White Sox last offseason and watched him flourish after three years of mediocre hitting, and have now flipped him for a legitimate talent in Early." No other players or $$$/international pool/picks involved.
  25. This sucks more.
  26. Total jinx lol.
