2008 Season in Review

Two young, streaky, lefty pitchers with limited ML experience to go after each other immediately following the tiebreaker game. Pressure may be on Clayton to save some pen arms depending on how deep we go in the tiebreaker, we'll be at least one reliever short, possibly more. If only I could see WCIU games!

I won't be able to watch because I am playing baseball so I decided making the game thread would be my penance. Hopefully I'll be able to make several more before the next poster has to take the reins.

To open the series, we have a battle of the southpaws. I hope we can take advantage of Washburn on our field, who is generally a fly ball pitcher. Buehrle has been good of late, let's see if he can keep it up. P.S. Thanks, Knight

West Coast hasn't been favorable to us before, but that was before Swisher. We got a few guys on their team against us, but we won't see Sweeney as he's on the DL. Regardless, Oakland hasn't been playing at the level they were. Floyd will be playing in a spacious ballpark, so it's time to take advantage. Part one is tonight against the lefty. jesus, this is like my 11th gamethread of the year...that's like more than 10% of the games. 9-1 record works for me, and I'm going to add my 10th today because Verlander remembers what happened the last time he faced the Sox, and history generally repeats itself when dealing with morons who went to Old Dominion (no offense to ODU or anyone who actually currently is or has gone to Old Dominion, including the dude the Sox drafted from there this year (as I seem to remember they did take someone from there)). It's just that Verlander is teh suck. I will also predict a Griffey homer if he plays, because GRIFFEY

I started an 8 game win streak so I figure I have the fingers to start a 12 game win streak. f*** it if the game isn't until Tuesday, I want dibs on it so I got dibs. Anyways, 3:30 in the morning, not a soul in sight...UNTIL THE WHITE SOX GOT TO TOWN AND BEAT THE s*** OUT OF THE TIGERS and the thunder rolls....and the thunder rolls. GO HAVY

This is definitely an important game, I think both for the whitesox. a successful roadtrip(still 1st) and possibly for Richard. I would imagine if he gets rocked around in the 4th/5th inning this will be his last start regardless of Contreras health. Also first time i posted a game thread
