  1. Almost everything in the bolded graf is factually false. That is probably why you are surprised. The reason the "anthrax" letters to Trump officials didn't get much press is because they were not in fact Anthrax or anything else hazardous, which they knew pretty much right away. It did get quite a lot of coverage until that was known, then it dropped off the radar. Which is what one would expect. The baseball game shooting? That was top story for days and had constant follow-ups and coverage. Not sure why you didn't see it, but it was very much there, big time coverage. The Rand Paul episodes with his neighbors have been covered on and off for the entire time, but that one is also weird because Rand Paul himself has wanted to keep it quiet. His choice I guess. I honestly don't know anything about comedians saying stuff, probably true, that's kinda what comedians do. I find no stories from anything other than wild conspiracy sites about any attempts by ISIS (or anyone else) trying to assassinate Trump. Of course all Presidents get threats, the USSS handles it, and we generally hear nothing about it unless something leaks publicly. And people violate motorcades and other security perimeters pretty regularly, again, for all Presidents, so why cover something like that unless they actually make it close to the President? I mean, that might help explain it, Or the fact that, you know, actual working bombs were sent to like a dozen people from a terrorist. Seems kinda newsy to me.

  2. What is the point here? Are you trying to talk everyone into not being fans anymore? I don’t get it. We’re all frustrated about not winning. So what?

  3. His stubbornness pushed him to be a very good coach for a bit and then didn't allow him to adapt and continue to be a good coach while getting better. The game has passed him by immensely. Must suck going from an innovator to stuck in your obsolete ways in a fairly short period of time.

  4. I'm fine with trading Rodon in a deal for Senzel, but I just don't think Rodon fits the Reds timeline to compete. Rodon needs to go to a contender if we are going to move him. Maybe Rodon to a team like the Dodgers who may lose Ryu, for a package around their catching prospect Keibert Ruiz, who was 19 when he made AA ball this year and is in a Dodgers system that is deep with catchers. https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa872528&position=C

  5. I mean, it was heavily rumored we were explored trading for him last offseason prior to a 100 loss season, so I think it’s all but a certainty we pursue him now.

  7. They tried to outright Smith and couldn't get him through. They need to add Seby Zavala to the 40-man. There's no way they could keep 4 catchers on the 40 man.

  8. Smith never had a future anyway with the Sox. Light hitting catcher who was ok defensively. No big loss, do wish him the best of luck though.

  9. Yeah I don't agree at all. I fully expect Jones to be back. I'll be very surprised if he's not.

  10. No it's not. He's easily worth $4.65 million. They'll pick it up without question.

  11. On that note, gonna stress news updates and not rampant accusations.

  12. You are not correct here. His option is still for $4.65 million. The nerve repositioning surgery that he had does not count as a UCL injury that would turn his option into a minimum salary.

  13. Signing one of Machado or Harper has to be priority...at least attempting to do so. I believe the Sox have a chance at either one, but I would think Machado is the preferred target. There was an article the other day about Harper wanting 10/$350 million as a starting point. Someone's going to pay that or more, and I don't think it'll be the Sox. Not because they can't afford him; they can. I believe for the same type of money, Machado fits the team's needs better. A signing of either guy would require lots of improvements elsewhere, specifically pitching. They're going to need another SP or two, and the bullpen needs help. I like some of the other ideas being floated here, and I'll need to do some more research to see who'd I'd like to see added. Hopefully it'll be an exciting off season.

  14. Suarez is signed on a Rizzo/Sale sweetheart deal. The ink is barely dry. He's going nowhere. They might be more willing to trade Gennett than Senzel, but idk.

  16. Finally, someone who gets that Jones' option for 2019 isn't for $4.5 million. You're already a step above the Sox beat writers and most bloggers -edit: it's actually less than the listed 1.25 too, it's for the league minimum which is about 540k
